Not signing out means that your session is left open, even after you turn your computer off. Depending on the webmaster, your session could be left open for a period of 1 hour to 2 weeks. If someone could tap into your open session during that time, he/she would have access to your account, and do what he/she likes with it. I've encountered something like that with friendster (http://www.friendster.com). A friend of mine didn't sign out after he was done, and a week later, he found out that his account has been used to send messages. And those messages were not pretty, to say the least. In the end, he had to apologize to everyone who were sent these messages... Lesson learned from that, I always sign out when I'm done. :)

That's a very bad experience indeed! But has anyone encountered this problem in mylot?
Thanks for responding.

if you are using a public computer and it is very essential to lob out of any account that you are using. But if it is a private computer than I don't think there is any need to knock out. I generally use my own laptop which has a password when it starts the BIOS and because of that I always keep all my passwords is being remembered by the browser so that I don't have tied them every now and then. In the very beginning my privacy is being tested in that it is clear that I have then everything is open to stop and I don't feel much unsecured about it because I know that that password cannot be hacked and also know one misses by private computers

I've never signed out of mylot and I very seldom switch off my computer and have never had a problem. I don't know about anyone else but it's been fine on my end.
