I love to write. It's my passion. It's my first love. I was almost married to it had I not met my husband. I love writing down my thoughts, reflections on bible verses, events that happened to my life, my day-to-day experiences, and everything I think worth writing about. So I have a collection of write-ups and an unpublished book that I dream of one day be able to publish. Recently I signed up for another blogging website. It was the kind of website that would pay for your blog. I was happy to find it because I need extra money to help my husband to pay our bills since I am not working right now. I posted couple of write-ups and was thrilled that people are reading them and giving comments. I already forgot about the money, I only wanted to see my write-ups published so I posted 7 more in one day. Then, the top lister/earner commented: YOU ARE A SPLOGGER... AND SPLOGGERS ARE NOT WELCOME HERE! I was hurt. I deleted my write-ups (except the ones that had already some comments on it out of respect for the people who took the effort and time to read them). I never wrote another bible verses reflections or any write-up again since then. I miss my first love. I love to write and I wanted to write until I die... but I can't now. I am still hurting and disappointed because of what happened. How can I make myself write again? Please help me.

now, that person who called u splogger is just another insecure freak out there, trying to ruin that something which u enjoy. i hate people like that, but i think instead of confronting such person through private messages or what, just report him/her to the website owner, file a complaint against him/her. you see, if there is nothing wrong with what u wrote, you should never hide them or delete them away. you might have lost your confidence, but i hope you'll recover from that incident early. :)

Thanks, I needed that. You are right, I lost some degree of confidence along the way. And perhaps that is the reason why I can't come up with an idea to write about or much less the inspiration. That woman is the on the top list of earner in that website and she even had an article about "what she wants blogger in that site do". Sounds like she owns the website. She rules, huh! Take care. I appreciate it. It boost my morale a bit.

If you are a writer and you can't think of nothing but writing then WRITE. Would it be great if your writing is shared yes, but that isn't the point, it is not for others to validate or to diminish what you do, it is for you to determine what works. To me a writer is someone who is writing something original and completely on their own, you mentioned bible verses, copying from bible is something different to me, but that is different by how I define it. It is however obviously something that has meaning for you, and works for who you are so do what works for you, the person who wrote to you did not offer constructive words of advice, or suggestion, they were being snotty, Is that person someone you know? Someone who has meaning in your life? It seems to me you are giving away your own personal power, and even to some degree giving up some level of control over your life to someone who is a stranger. Go back to the site, and write all you want, so long as it is with in the rules and guidelines of the site there is nothing wrong with it, and don't let the opinions of others control you. It is one thing to get the ideas and opinions from others to see and learn new view points. But this does not mean you have to take their views as you own, and in my opinion should never mean you give them control over who you are. If the writing isn't harming anyone and is fine with those who are in your life, they understand this need and desire of yours, so they can give you the time for it, then go for it. As for writing to much, so that someone says you are a splogger, hmm who are they to say? Is it their site? did they set up the rules and guidelines for the site? It would be as if someone said you are neglecting your family because you write. Well excuse me but how can anyone say it? they don't know how much time you spend doing what in your life You wouldn't let someone say something like that to you would? Especially someone who didn't know how you spent your time, and what you gave you time to. So go for it. Don't give up your power, or right to be you to strangers. LOL or don't go for it, and give up your right and power to strangers that is the beauty of being you, ... you get to make the choices for you, not me, not this person who wrote this to you.

Lets put aside the absurdity of being called a splogger... since none of us really have any clue what is meant by that idiotic term to begin with. A writer is someone who has to write, it does not matter what else happens, a writer writes. Now, I assumed you had some published works, but perhaps you have not.. the reason I say this is that it is not uncommon to get rejection letters, or requests for re-writes and a variety of other kinds of negative feed back on ones writing. (being a writer I know this happens upon occasion.) So.. how do you handle the rejection slips/ requests for re-writes, if you cannot simply ignore someone who apparently is jealous of the amount you have been writing? (that is assuming .. which I truly hate to do.. that splogging is somekind of indication of greed... )Since this person was just another blogger/user, why would you react at all? I could see if it was the management wanting to limit the quantity, but another user??? I think you need a thicker skin. Now, again we are all pretty much assuming that splogger is for spoiling the blog blogger... which I fail to see any rational for.. how does one spoil anything for other writers by being prolific? Perhaps there are only so many dollars to go around, in which case the other user best get off their duff and do one of two things.. outwrite you in quality or quantity, either way it would be better to have the competition than to cry poor me .. get over it, and if you need more outlets, then do other than the paying place for your writing. Hub pages is a good place, I have many blogs myself, not that I can keep up with them all, all of the time, but none the less I have never had anyone tell me I was spoiling things for them by writing too much or too often. (interested to know just who is paying for the blogs to begin with.. and if you actually have been paid.)

Don't let one person get you down (who as someone else said above is probably just insecure themselves). There are many different ways that you can get into writing - go for it. I am a full time writer and love it, I am doing my passion and you can too. I have also been looking into Christian publishers lately for a book I am starting to write and know that Living Waters Publishing company is currently looking for manuscripts. They expressed an interest in reading mine when its finished and although I am not sure exactly what they accept why not try approaching them at acquisitions@livingwaterspc.com. I also get a lot of my work through Elance.com and believe there is plenty of scope for more writers there although little on specifically christian or Bible-related topics but plenty of blog work and you do get paid. There is a small monthly membership fee but this quickly pays for itself. I also belong to a fantastic email group through Yahoo called "Fellowship of Christian Writers" and have met some wonderful people through there. Once again, DON'T give up. Use this as a stepping stone to greater possibilities.

Why not try writing for Helium, but forget blogger style and concentrate on producing articles that show your literacy and also that are about what interests you. The kind of backup you get from a site like Helium is tremendous and you earn from your writing. If you want to know more, email me. Thingywhatsit51@yahoo.com and I shall gladly lead you through the beginning processes. I earn between 300-500 dollars a month there and love the place with a passion.

I am also a memeber of Helium. I dabble in it. I think it is a good source to end writer's block. It is fun to see how your writings are rated. BUT how do you earn $300-500 dollars a month? You must write full time, no? Ruthinian...keep on writing. You can't let one person get you down. I know things like that can take the wind out of your sails, but just get back in there.

dont ever be discouraged by the words of others only ever be inspired. I think maybe this person was jealous or just mislead. Find a new site and try again maybe slowly add your write ups if that is what will keep the others happy. Continue to write dont let one persons comments destroy your dream, think of all the people you might be touching with your words.

What a shame that happened. I am also a writer working on several projects as well as some research for them. One of the ebooks I am writing is about the Law of Attraction and it sounds like you could use some help in that area. If so, message me and I can send you some info that I know will help.

Heck, don't let someone like that get you down. Part of being a writer is climbing back on the horse when someone's pushed you off. In the 'real' world of writing - for print magazines and papers, etc - getting rejected is part of the normal game. It's never pleasant, but you just keep on writing anyway. So who is the top lister anyway? Someone with a chip on their shoulder. What site is this? I can't see why anyone would react like that. http://mikecrowlsscribblepad.blogspot.com/2008/02/ladder-racks-and-chess.html

I'm in agreement with everyone here. Go to Helium.com. You can write all you want there and get paid. They have a great forum and writer's workshop. I have written 9 articles so far, but haven't written anything lately. Don't let anyone tell you not to write. They are just jealous. Rejection hurts, but that is just one person's opinion. cdejac

What the heck is a splogger? I love to write too and so I do understand your hurt. Understand that it is just one person's opinion. It means nothing. I write because I love to and have been told by several that I'm very good...I don't think I am. I just do it for myself...no one else. I don't care what anyone thinks. Neither should you. Keep writing...if it is from your heart then it is bound to touch someone.

Well for me being a writer is passion . You have to love it. I am not a good writer but I love it so dearly. What I do is I always have to think what to right and whats the purpose of my writing.. I always write with a heart. I always make sure that what Im writing comes from what really happened which you can go back to the time. There is no such thing as a good writer.. good writing is always at heart.

DON'T STOP WRITING!!! i love people like you! i love reading those kind of write ups! you're lucky because you can express things thru writing. it's my frustration and i can't due to lack of vocabulary. just think of it this way, he's only one against the millions who love reading such write ups. im sure you have read the purpose driven life by dr. rick warren. it was sold out to millions or even billions of people in the world! it only shows how many people love reading no nonsense write ups. GO FOR IT! im looking forward to your first book! by the way, may i ask for your blogging website so i can read them and share them as well to all my friends if it's ok with you.

My suggestion is to write. I write stuff that nobody reads...at least I thought, but lately I have been busy writing articles for other websites and even being asked to be a moderator on some subjects. Don't stop doing what you do, eventually someone will recognize. God gave you a passion...follow it.

You should have just ignored that person, Maybe they were envy because you write better than they are. As long as you think you didnt do anything thats bad then you should continue. after all, he was the only person who made that comment, there are more people who wanted to read your article..
