So some of you might already know that I am newbe to this site. I have posted a few discussions and only received a few responses. Is there something that I am doing wrong? I would like to have more responses. So please feel free to make comments on what I can try. Thank you for your help.

leconis made a good point, pick interests that have a larger number of people in them. I looked at your profile and only see a total of 5 interests, so your posts aren't even being seen. Pick a lot more interests, see the ones that are active, and post there. You can start dozens of discussions a day, but if you're only putting them in one or two interest categories that no one looks at, you're wasting your time.

So I should add more interests and post in a interest that has more people. Thank you for the information. All of this really helps. Expecially from experienced people.

THank you. I went and add a bunch of interests. I still have areas to fill in but what I have now will definitely help.

Exactly. Go through the lists and add a bunch of them; you can always delete some if you have too many, or they aren't active. If you add many varied interests, you'll find you won't need to start many discussions of your own, you'll be busy enough jumping in and responding to the one's already there. I don't think there is any extra weight given towards points/earnings if you start a discussion rather than respond to someone else's.

It's very difficult when you're first starting out. What really worked for me was responding to other people's discussions a lot, and then sending friend requests to those people whose discussions I really enjoyed. Once someone is on your friend's list, they are far more likely to respond to your discussions. Other than that, make sure you're classifying your discussions carefully by interest. Some people use the "discussions from my interests" a lot (or at least I know I do) so make sure you're putting everything under an interest category that fits, so the right people will see it. Other than that, I would say if you have an idea you're not sure has been done before, search mylot for it first. Not a lot of people are going to respond to something if there was a discussion about it the day before or whatever.

Another thing you might want to think about is how your interests are worded. You posted this under "mylots" which has less than 2000 people in that interest, while "mylot.com" has almost 20,000. A lot more people will see it if you put it in an interest that has more people.

Thank you soooo much for the information. I will look before I post a comment. I never really thought of that.

Yes, that is the thing to do you are right about that, you ask questions you get more answers. or talk about something that you know everyone likes, you can take a simple topic and make it out of something just by talking about it. go into details about it. and then ask a question behind it. Yoiu have the right Idea.
