I know that some people save their coins in bottles or cookie jars. While others don't want to save them, and spend them every time they make a purchase. Myself, I pack my coins in a small form of indirect saving.

Well to big with you consider that this type of activity doesn't apply to all personalities. So I could surely see why this practice would not appeal to you.
When it comes to a reason for saving coins, I would state the same reason I would save dollar bills, for their monetary worth.

Whenever I use cash , I do keep my change in a little bank except the quarters, they are for washing.

I definitely collect my pocket change. I think it's a great idea to do too. I can't tell you how much I've ended up in savings just by doing that. I even have it set up with my bank too. Even if I don't use cash, if I use my check card instead, my bank rounds up to the nearest dollar on the purchase and puts the change in a separate account in order to "keep my change". It's quite nice. I like it a lot.
