Wonder Why Global Warming has Increased Lately?

Really think about this a minute. Nova my partner in smut asked a question of us boomer's yesterday about our favorite cartoon character. Then it hit me...shesh no wonder we are in a global warming state.....think about it,, at any given time there are millions of us boomer women all hot flashing at the same time!
It's not just the hot flashes and night sweats. It's the bad brain thing and the fading eyesight, too. Sometimes my sketchy memory betrays me like the time I forgot where my car was parked in super wal-mart parking lot and my 4 year old grand daughter was saying, Nana don't you know what you did with our car? Have I been reduced now to speaking into a personal recorder. Parked... in Isle 7 on 2-26-08?
I have to think fuzzy vision is a perk for us midlifers, we just don't notice each others' wrinkles, age spots, enlarged pores, wayward nasal hair and varicose veins as much without our cheaters. It's as if we're all walking around as airbrushed as the models in the mags, with eyes that have some sort of diffusion lens on them.
In other words, when we check out people our age, we're probably putting way more of them into the "he's hot!" category.
It's just that some of us are a little bit hotter at times than others.
My body is changing, whether I want it to or not, and I either have to fight it or join it. I guess acceptance and laughter is how I am going to embark on this next leg of my Journey. What say you all?:)))
For my younger friends who giggle at the older ones here for their discomfiture... Remember we will have had this long behind us, and man are we going to stand back and laugh at you all:)) So fess up and leave your comments here!

Angel, I can see what you are saying and I can also feel some emotional touch behind the scenes. We all change with age, time and experience and trust me that what you are ascribing to older age and women can very well be the case with youth and men also! Even though they (old age and things described here) do seem to correlate, generally!
As to your global warming thing, I can’t really speak for all men, but I know for a fact that it had happened to me already in my youth and still happens at times. And, I believe same is experienced by many men. Especially before my marriage, there have been days and especially nights when I used to feel like there is fire rather than blood running through my veins. And NO, not just in summer but in the middle of winter nights when ambient temperature used to be around -2 to 0 Celsius and I used to feel like going outside into the courtyard naked, and I actually did that at times without particularly being naked as such. Still, at this very hour, it’s around 730am here, ambience is cold, windows are open and my ears are burning, I am having minimal covering, still feeling quite hot. So, I won’t say that it’s just a women’ thing or an old age thing particularly.
Yes, there are things related to old age but I have always thought that age has nothing to do with the attitude which, for me, actually determines if someone is really old or not. I have seen quite a few people in their 60s and 70s more full of life than people in their 20s or 30s! My father (now 55) not only appears young but also has a very healthy attitude towards life along with physical strength which usually surpasses the youth of our times. I have never come to think about you as older than me except when it’s about wisdom! :-P

Nova Darlin is it getting HOT IN HERE? Kamran keep it up :))) LMAo you will have to sisters doing more than panting Handsome if you keep that up..... LMAO.
Kamran you know I love it when you talk me into that rabbit hole :)))) I do adore your tangents as well. The image of fire rather then blood in your veins is quite poetic to say the least... and then To have 2 of us hot flashing SISTERS in the same thread you put yourself in a precarious situation!

I am sorry, Angel, I guess I missed the real point here and went on tangent! But that's possible with me:-)
I believe your response to responder just above me was not there when I started writing. had I read it, I would have been much more in my senses!:-(
As to 'N' thing, LOL! Nah!!! I knew that there are satellites spread all over me, eager to take my pictures so that they could be spread like a wildfire and a scandal could be forged out of it, tarnishing the image of an awesomely handsome BUT quite an innocent man! So, I never actually came out like that!:-)

Okay Angelwhispers, you're REALLY going to hate me for saying this, but I'm not having any of the discomforts of my own "global warming"...hehee. I'm 52 years old and some years ago, I experienced a bondafide hot flash and drenching sweats...ONCE only and never had it since. Hehehee..Don't know why but believe me I'm not complaining. One time, and this was years before I had my one-night bout of hot flash and sweats a woman I knew was describing her symptoms and thought, NO WAY, she must be exaggerating...She said her husband thought she was totally looney as even in the middle of winter would have all the windows open, the air conditioner and was practically walking around naked..LOL. Then oh then I got my encounter, and started reading that women can often have this for about eleven years, and I said crap!. But like I said, I only had my global warming for a grand total of one night and haven't had it since...don't you just hate me...LOL

Good Morning Gabs :))) You know the one thing I love about mylot is that we can support each other and find laughter in such issues as menopause. Its been great getting everyones take on something that makes us uniquely women. i would not trade my femininity for all the money in the world, but I sure will be happy to get through this phase now that it has started.

For a minute I thought you were talking about me, but then I realized it was in general.
And I have been worrying so much about the fuzzy vision, I"m feeling much better now that I know it's not only me and actually found that it even has it's positives LOL
Thanks for this discussion, loved it :):)

No My friend you are not in this alone. It is either embrace it of fight against it. I think the latter would just make it harder to get through. Funny thing is I still feel 21 in so many ways. But here I am.... warming the planet with my fellow boomers. And really all we can do about it is laugh and share right?

Arkaf I have been drinking soy milk. it really seems to be taking the edge off most of the night sweats and hot flashes. And really soy milk does not taste as bad as you might think. The chocolate helps several cravings at one time, not to mention is totally good for you and cholesterol free. I do not want to use HRT. Too many risks involved.

I have been going through the "change" for a year now and I'm in my 30's..My body isn't the same and everything that goes along with it..But I don't mind it as much as I thought I would. I still look young and feel good so that's what counts to me. Besides, men still think I'm hot so woo hoo! I don't think aging is a big deal but most of society does and it's sad really..

Skinnychick that is a bit young, but I had an aunt that was completely through menopause by the time she was 37. It really has a lot to do with our genes. We can look at our mothers and grandmothers aunts and sort of gage our own demise. Of course this has nothing to do with how I feel inside.. I still in a lot of ways see myself as that beautiful 21 year old young lady... It is just a new phase of my life... but dang I sure could do with out some of the physical symptoms.

For this conversation is it is most assuredly menopausal women :))) Those slight heat risings you feel during pregnancy is nothing compared to what you may or may not experience during a real hot flash episode. Hot headed men have nothing what so ever to do with this :)) Not this one GF. Male bashing stops at the door. Actually we have had some pretty wonderful husbands weigh in here, and I think its touching.

What an intelligent theory!! I do find that I have become that certain lady in the church choir that I always promised I would not become.Because of her vision she hated to have to ever share music. I do not like it, but there she is. I am past the hot flash/night sweat thing, but I happen to come from a family that is usually naturally warm, even the men. I am looking for a hot guy, but no really. My cutie is hot enough for me.

Great discussion, Angel. I've been wanting to get here since late last night when I first saw it, but I HAD to put myself to bed, it was just too late for me. So, you're starting to have hot flashes, are you? Poor, poor baby. Mine have finally started to subside, go away, be exorcised, begone you devil, I cast thee out! I had huge hot flashes over the past 11 years or so. At one point, they were coming every ten minutes, I kid you not. Listen, this is really wild. Do you turn red when you flash? Like your chest, face, neck, ears? Well, there are other parts of your body that turn red too. Soon, when you get a flash, go and take all your clothes off and look in a full-length mirror. It'll be shocking to see how much of your body goes red during the flash. I found that out once, when I was trying on bathing suits. My legs went red, especially my knees, all down my arms, and of course my chest, neck, and face. What a trip, to actually see that happen! You'll see what I mean after you do it.
You've got the right idea about handling all of this, Angel. You've got to keep your sense of humor to keep your sanity. But it's liberating, too, to be done with all that nonsense, no more cramps, running out of tampons, PMS, done, gone, over with. I think this is where it really starts to get fun. You're more secure and comfortable in your own skin than you've ever been, you know who you are, what you want, and what you don't want, and that's what you'll concentrate on. You've earned every gray hair and every wrinkle, and you will go out in that sun and tan, by god! Screw the wrinkles. I kept myself out of the sun from when I was 26 till I was, what, maybe 45, I think. And I have very good skin to show for it, but at this point, I say, wrinkles be damned. I will age gracefully, and be completely accepting of younger, more beautiful women who inevitably come into my life, and will not resent their youth and beauty. That's a promise I made to myself when I was in my twenties. I decided that I wouldn't ever, as a mature woman, be so dismissive, and not give me the time of day, like some of those women I ran into then. They only saw the surface, and it intimidated them, or made then jealous, or whatever the hell it was, and dismissed me before they got to know me. So I told myself I'd never do that, and I don't. Hubby and I know many young women, lovely as can be, and I embrace all of them and encourage them, and support them, and listen to their woes. They've gone through the same sort of thing that I did at their age, and I want to show them that not all older women are bitter about their age. I'm certainly not. I love being my age, and never hesitate to reveal it to anyone. I feel young and new inside, for the most part anyway, and that's what counts. Angel, try to take it as it comes, you'll get through it, and you'll emerge from the other side, a stronger and more confident woman. A better woman, if you can imagine that, bless your heart..........he, he

Hi 5s Angel -- ^{}^ for your timely commentary.
I think that in spite of the fuzzy vision, gray hairs that are unruly, knee aches, back aches, etc., we have a lot more fun than we did in our younger years. Okay, I'm speaking for myself.
I'm not shy anymore -- :D that's really the biggest perk in my seniorhood.

Confidence we gain right Joyce? If I can feel cool calm and collected again I will ever be so happy!
