I think it is crazy that over there you have to get certified and also pay for it. What a kick in the teeth. Here in the uk you dont need any certification. I work in catering and for that you need a health and hygiene certificate for food handling but generally if you start in employment and it is required then the employer will pay for you to get it. Luckily though I work for my Mum and she just paid for me to get it cos I was helping her out by working for her so that was very convienant.

I have two jobs. They are both okay. I work as a bartender. I love bartending but have done it for about 7 years now and am feeling a bit burned out, especially since I have been at the same bar now for about 6 yrs. I think I should take off a few weeks and try to find another bartending job, especially one closer to my house since I recently moved. The bank is okay but doesn't pay enough, although the benefits can't be beat. I am still looking for the perfect job!

Welll first off I would like to say that this really insn't a discussion and more a piece of advice. Very good advice but also very obvious. Yeah so as I said I work for my Mum and it works really well for both of us. I do cooking for bar meals and buffets and that sort of thing and i really do enjoy it. I like to go out on a sunday night and have almost every monday off so that works well for me.
