I think drinking and driving is horrible and that person should never be allowed to drive. Too many incident people and families are getting killed because of drunk drivers. I hate it . It makes me sad.

In every MVA that was caused by a drunk driver, all but one time my patient always ended up being the drunk who caused the accident. Sad isn't it? and they just don't seem to learn.

That is sad. I don't understand why people don't learn or listen to the harm drinking and driving can do that they talk about in the news or from other people.

I completly agree with you why risk a life when you could just drink at home or have a designated driver.

The slogan here in Australia is. If you drink and drive you are a bloody idiot. Unfortunately when my kids were little they thought that meant all drinks. They tell me now they used to be scared if I drank bottled water when I was driving :)

it is something that there shouldn't even be a second thought of. Drive but don't drink.

My daughter, Amanda was killed by a drunk driver on April 3, 2004 when she was seventeen. It has been devastating as she was my only child. It is encouraging to see the positive messages here.

I am so sorry to hear about you losing your daughter to a drunk driver. It upsets me and makes very sad when innocent people, like your daughter, get killed or hurt by someone who drinks and drives. Those people have no regards to other peoples well being and they should not be allowed to drive. It must be devastating to you and the rest of your family. Deepest sympathies to you and your family.

it's stupid. and you should think of your loved ones b4 you do it, because if you kill someone, how would you feel if it was someone you loved.

Exactly. I think we all would be upset big time if someone that was drunk killed one of our loved ones.

It's ironic that this it the discussion that popped up right as I was getting ready to log out. My boyfriend was arrested two weeks ago for driving while intoxicated. I feel strongly against people who drive after drinking because I have had so many incidents hit so close to home with me. You take too many chances by driving like this and you can not only hurt yourself but you can take out a lot of people too. I also want to add that it is costly. It's going to cost my boyfriend at least $6000 to get his licence back, go to court and lawyer fees to try and keep this off the record. Oh and I swear this is the last thing...he got arrested right outside of our apartment. He made it all the way home and then was arrested. It doesn't make it ok that he made it home. I just wonder how many other countless times has he done this.

I hope that he learned a lesson from all of this and does not drink and drive again. yes, too many people do get injured or killed and it seems the innocent ones are the ones who get hurt the most. I think if a person has gotten caught once for drinking and driving, they probably have done it other times too but never got caught.
