Where do they come up with these ideas?
I wouldn't like this at all. Next thing they would want to do is control when you can and can't have your lights on.

i don't know but things like this are crazy. they charge for the gas and electric to run our house holds so most people keep their consumption within reasonable tollerance anyhow. But if i am cold, I want to turn up the heat and not be limit by the government. this is crazy talk.

Right. Seems like if they do it this way, they would have to charge more for the gas and electric to help pay for the extra paper work/computers/employees etc to run it this way.

Even if they did do this - what is stopping people from bringing in electric heaters that you plug into the wall?

I agree. As long as your paying the bill - they should keep their fingers out of it.
