Maybe too long?

Maybe I've been carrying my back pack for too long. The truth is that with the things that I usually carry to work the back pack is much more comfortable and carries more things.
But maybe.. just maybe... I should give it a break every once in a while.
Today I didn't have anything special to carry so I decided to take my purse instead.
It was a nightmare. The strap felt like it was falling of my shoulder every few minutes. I don't even know anymore if it was really slowly falling of my shoulder or if it just felt that way, but it became uncomfortable enough for me to wish for my backpack LOL
Have you ever gotten used to something that anything else feels uncomfortable when you compare ?

I can understand the school studnets in India are made to carry a bag which weighs between 3 to 5 kg. and sometimes the students have to walk 2 to 3 kms. This is really a torture. How come as a teacher you are carrying back pack?
I used to go to office but I had the habit of leaving all office work at office only. Work little extra time and complete the office work at office only. When I am out of office, I could think of myself, my family etc. At home, any shopping, I am not used to carrying anything. Must be painful experience.

I usually have to carry my laptop because although I can lock my office door I prefer not to leave it there. The windows were already broken to steal less valuable things.
Sometimes if I"m too tired I would leave it there but not often, since the school won't pay for it if something happens.
SOmetimes I also being a few books with work to correct.
But the truth is that backpack feels so comfortable :)

lol...I know exactly what you mean!
I have the same problem...I'm s used to carrying something that is slightly heavy (before marriage it was a backpack...and after that it was a baby bag)...that I find it odd when I have to go out with only a light purse.
I've found a perfect solution...I just put my purse in a smaller backpack...and carry it.

See, you got liberated, sort of, and it is hard to go back to captivity. I don't like to carry a large backpack, but found several "purse-sized" ones, in different colors and sizes, and they are really handy, especially the expandable ones.
