A story that is now on our local news concerns two teens who went to a disabled woman's home and beat her for a period of time before cutting off her hair. Now, where was the sense in any of that? I am pretty sure that this poor woman had done no wrong to these kids. No motive for their actions was given. This is another case that I will be following closely. I'll never understand what makes some people tick. What are your views on their actions?

I really think the same should be done to these teens. Put them in prison for awhile and let the inmates shave their heads and beat them. Sometimes a night or two in jail just doesn't cut it. Sometimes these kids think this is funny. There is nothing funny about it. Regardless of their idea behind the beating, it was wrong. Hope their punishment is more than a night in jail, posting bond and getting a slap on the wrist.

They are already suffering some of the consequences of their actions, carolbee. I understand they have a baby, which has been taken from them, and they are now waiting to stand trial.

Some people just enjoy hurting others, wether it's picking on somebody in school or this.

That is so sad. We has a couple of teens that used to do yard work for a guy in his 70's, go into his home beat him, rob him, tie him up and set his house on fire, and let him die. It was about 8 years ago. I never understood what got into them and I don't understand why they did this either.

No, I can't remember what happened. I do remember they tried them as adults and they got an adult sentence. I cannot remember what it was, but they did have to pay and they were 16 and 17. They knew better and deserved what they got.

And some people really believe that our society is not on the decline, Thoroughrob! With events like this happening more and more, what other explanation could there be?

It has been noted, Shaun, that both of them have long rap sheets, and I suspect the judge will throw the book at them.

That is just terrible! What kind of punishment are the kids getting??
How can we ever really know what some people are thinking...we, people, are a very very mysterious, strange species--and we are unpredictable...dangerous! And that's all I can say about what motive those teens had--they're people.

You're so right, Lily! We are supposed to be the superior species, but it often does not appear to be that way. They are awaiting trial.

Oh, they definitely will face the consequences of their actions, Bunnypal, and it was a cowardly thing to do.

Grrrrr this makes me feel utterly sick, that these subhuman creatures can do this, with no conscious, no morals and gee, what are there parents like do they know, do they even care? And if, and a big if these scum are caught, they know full well that they'll get away with it, with a caution or have their rights protected. That sickening me when they cannot be named because of legal reasons. Well that's shite NAME AND SHAME. They need teaching a lesson, not handed out free holidays or giving stupid warnings which they laugh at!

I don't believe this pair will escape their punishment, wolfie, as they both have a history of criminal behavior for a long time.

They will have to pay a price for their actions, winterose, of that you can rest assured.

I don't undertand it, some people harbor weird prejudices. I hope the offenders each get therapy, which they need, as well as sensitivity training. being they be made to volunteer helping disabled people with supervision that makes more sense than then sending them to jail.

I think, cripfemme, they also need to serve time for their crime.

That is very evil..sick..insane work. This kids should be taught a lesson for doing that. No sense at all. That poor woman. If those teens were brave enough they should've go to someone with their level so that person can fight but an old woman. That is horrible. This kids are lacking parental guidance, respect and discipline. They may be high on something. I do hope that old lady is ok and I hope those kids get detained and punished.

The victim was not old, p3halliwel, but disabled all the same. These kids will have their day in court soon.

I think it's just a sign of the times, maddysmommy, paired with the laxity of the courts.

I think youths like these really need to learn some respect and compassion! That poor woman was probably just an easy target for kids who feel they can do anything they like and never worry about consequences. Yet another reason I am strict about manners and rules in my house - I try to raise my children with a conscience and I would be so ashamed if my children ever did anything remotely like this! xxx

We are now faced with a generation who were not given the parental upbringing they should have had, mummymo, but that is no excuse for such a cowardly act.

You are right, di, there are too many of these kinds of events occuring. They will have their day in court and the woman is recovering.

Reportedly, gabs, they have been involved in a lot of bad things for a long time now, so justice will prevail.

This is just sad. I seems like things are really changing for the worse. Why is it that parents today are not raising their children the way that we were raised? Now I am not old I am 23, but when I was a teenager this was not something that would even cross my mind. And a disabled woman? Someone who cannot even fend for herself. This is just sick. They need to be punished.

That is down right cruel for people to do that to another human being. I don't understand why people do that to others. It's like when one person of one color may decide to beat up a person of another color for no sensable reason at all.
