Left Behind

Now, I have not read the 'adult' version of this series, but I just finished the second book. This deals with Jesus coming back and the rapture taking place. Everybody who believed in Jesus/God went to Heaven and the non-believers were "Left Behind." It made me cry, I guess by how I believe it can happen, but how I would probably be one that would be left. If the rapture came in my lifetime and I missed it, I'd come to realize I have to give myself to Jesus. If it does come, I don't want to miss it, but I somehow resist when it comes to letting the Lord take over. I know I haven't, and it makes me mad at myself, but at the same time I don't want to. Do any of you feel like you haven't or know you haven't given yourself to Christ? What would happen if the rapture came and you were left behind? What if you are a follower and aren't left behind? How would you feel/deal with friends or family that weren't believers? I'd really appreciate everyone's views

Hi girlwithviews, You are taking all of this much too seriously, probably because you've been taught to take the Bible literally. I wouldn't waste my time on books like this as they are meant to scare people. You do not have to worry about Christ's return in your lifetime, because it isn't going to happen. We should be concerned with the fact that mankind can destroy all life on this planet unless we learn to live together in peace. I am not opposed to religion or to the Bible, in fact I have read the Bible many times and feel that I know it well. The Teachings of Jesus Christ are good and we need to practice what he taught. Please realize that these left behind series are just pure fiction. Study your bible. There will not be a second chance after Christ returns for his people. He won't be coming quietly. Jesus was talking about the unexpectedness of a thief coming in the night. Not that he would be coming quietly. He come with a shout and loud trumpets. Get a good bible study going to find out what is really going to happen.
