Do you or someone you know stay with someone for security?

I know someone, she is 28 years old has 4 kids all by different men and has never lived on her own. She is not with a man right now because no one will stay with her. She tries to find men who will support her, she is very controlling, she lies and she is miserable. She makes it hard to live with. Constantly people are leaving her but her mother steps in a takes care of her when a man wont. Its crazy, the cycle has to end sometime.
