"Going to church does not make you a Christian anymore than going to McDonalds makes you a hamburger." I just surf around and found this quote, I think it is true, what do you think?

I think going to Church is a great thing if you want to be with others when you worship God but I don't think it makes anyone any better than anyone else. I don't go to Church but I do believe in God and I do pray and try to follow the right path...I just don't go to Church. Nice quote by the way. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

No...some ppl like to be around alot of ppl when they worship, some like to be by themselves. I don't think it really matters where you are when you pray...I can pray in my shower just as well as a church and God hears me in either place. Some ppl think that unless your going to church every Sunday your some kind of heathen. At the same time, maybe your right...maybe going to church should be a fun thing to do...not going to the circus fun but more an uplifting experience. I just haven't found a church that makes me feel that way about it. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

In my religion, there is not a requirement to go a House of Worship. It is encouraged, but many do not, and it is not required. Any time and anywhere there are 10 of us in one place at the same time we can have our own full service and anyone who is qualified can lead the service. They do not have to be ordained or specially schooled to do this, nor do they have to be specifically a man or a woman. I think this is very special. I like small groups. A huge building full of people is so impersonal and overpowering that I just feel crushed. The idea of just 10 people is beautiful and simple. Shalom

That is very true...I'm not Christian but that quote applies to any religion really....I also think it could go deeper than that too...for example Reading the bible doesnt make you a Christian (again you can apply that to any religion) and so on...
