I was due yesterday to have my baby, this is my third child. Today I woke up and had the blood show. I thought that it would be all systems go finally. As with my other two children after the show, few hours later contractions started and that same day I gave birth. So little confused as why there is no action yet, lol. I have heard that for some women after show it can take a couple of days later or even a week. Wanted to know what happened in your labour, how long after show did you deliver your baby?

I think it's different with each child, depending on the child itself. With my two, I didn't even have a show with the first one, and in fact, he was a week late. The second, I had the show, my water broke and he was born within half an hour, so I really think they vary.
I hope you don't have to wait too much longer. The last few weeks and days seem to take forever. Brightest Blessings and good luck with your labour.

I was in the hospital when I had the show. I had been having contractions all the previous evening, so I went in. They told me I wasn't properly in labour, then I had the show, and they had to take me off to the delivery room in a rush because they weren't expecting it. lol.

Wow, half hour later, that is a quick labour. When I called the hospital today they said don't come in till you are having contractions and they are 5 minutes apart. I thought that could be too late by then since this is my third. 1/2 hour that is about how long it takes me to drive to hospital, scary thinking how quick they can arrive, when they are ready they don't mess around, lol. I know what you mean about the last few days taking forever, it feels like a month has passed in last week. I am just finding it hard as I have lots of fluid retention and causing me to have insomnia. Hopefully not too much longer, thanks for your response. :))

i never had the show with any of my 3 kids. mind you the first 2 i was induced. with my oldest daughter i was induced cause it took so long to get into my dr they had no idea when she was due exactly. with my son i was induced cause he was 6 days overdue and i had a real bad galbladder. my baby girl, well... i had an inducing date set for sept 30th. the last couple weeks of sept i had a nasty cold and on the 29th i was sitting at pc relaxing while hubby got my oldest daughter ready to go to a bday party. i sneezed, and it felt like i tinkled a bit so i went to the potty and as i sat on the potty i realized my water broke. scared the daylights out of me, i never had it happen at home. when i come out of the bathroom hubby was gone downstairs to her ride for the party. he come back up and told him we had to go to hospital. that was at noon. my baby girl was born at 8:51pm after them having to pop a bubble of water stuck between her head and her exit door and having to get meds to help it along cause it wasn't going quick enough and my back was getting bad and they wanted her out soon cause i can't have epidurals

YEah it is a pretty weird feeling when your waters break. With my first it was a big massive gush like a waterfall, that came whilst I was at home too. Atleast you were on the potty, lol, when your waters broke. I also had to get induced for my other two children as they went to the toilet inside, I think it is more painful then as the contractions are brought on harder. It is interesting to know that you never had a show with any of your labours I thought it was one of the first signs of labour. Shows how much I know, you think I would be an expert by now, lol. Thanks for your story. :))

Every pregnancy is different. Me, I never had or at least saw the show. I was sitting in the living room with my mom. She was telling a joke. I was laughing pretty hard. My water broke. This was shortly after my husband got home from work. We went to the hospital.Aproximately 12 hours later, I had my girl. Congrats and good luck to you.

Wow, I thought everyone saw the show, I guess every pregnancy is really different. I should try and laugh, maybe my waters can break too. Thanks for your luck, I need it, even though it is my third labour, still frightens me, as I know what I am in for. Thanks for your response :))

YEah I have had few ultrasounds with few different due dates. One said 25th of Feb, another said 27th of Feb and the other one said 28th of Feb. I have had that many ultrasounds this time round as I had a low lying placenta. Luckily now it has risen so I can have natural birth. Hope I still don't have to wait a week, each day is dragging out now. Thanks for your story, littleowl. :)

Hi Selby thanks for your response. You think your third would be the quickest, hey not the longest. That is not good that you missed him going into school by a day.

I'm a little late on answering this, you might of gone and had the baby already but here goes lol. With my son I didnt see a show at all. I was at home using the bathroom when my water broke. I was just getting up off the toilet and about to step in the shower and pop, it broke. Felt like a water balloon between my legs. I am scheduled for a csection in just 19 days but I have been losing my mucus plug slowly (as I did with my son, but never saw blood)I'm hoping I soon go because frankly I'm tired of being pregnant. Good luck :)

Your not too late shootergirl, I am still here, waiting, waiting, keep getting slight irregular contractions but nothing else. Maybe she will arrive tommorow on the leap year. I wish you all the best for your c section and congratulations on your little baby. Do you know what you are having? I am tired of being pregnant too, gets hard to even move around without aching everywhere. :))

With my 1st child I didnt have a show at all as I was induced, I had a show with my second pregnancy, I had the show at around 9 pm and my son was born 5 Hours later at 2am so it was pretty rapid. If you are concerned I would suggest seeing your midwife and mention it to her. Hope all goes well
