I did once in high school. It took me years and this was before personal computers so I had one handwritten copy. The few people I did show thought it was pretty good. Then disaster struck and I broke a bottle in my knapsack where the book was and destroyed each and every last word. I never had the heart to start again and it was forever lost. Over 20 years later I still wonder if it was really any good. Have you ever written a book? Have you ever wanted too?

I am currently working on two books. There is some great info online to teach you how to write, especially ebooks as there is a higher profit margin for the author. Some of it I had to pay for, but there is lots of free info too, even if you don't think you can write. If you need help finding info message me and I'd be happy to help you out.
It's much easier now that you can do it digitally.

LOL, that was one of my problems. One of the books I'm writing is about the Law of Attraction and I learned the the first step is the hardest. After that I just make sure I spend at least a few minutes a day writing, doing research, marketing, etc. Every little step brings me closer to achieving my goal, then it's not such a big task.

I wanted to, I tried, I started.
I thought out the main plots of this fantasy story and I had drafted a trilogy on paper.
But when I got to typing it out, it just got "lost" in the beginning and it is still stuck in no man's land now.

I have tried to write a book a number of times and I usually get stuck on the 2nd or 3rd pages. In short, it was a complete failure. A lot of people think that they have this great idea or story so they start to write. And like them, I have realized that I just couldn't write. One should have the gift of putting thoughts & ideas into words. Writers have also a way of seeing things that most people don't say and put them into words so perfectly that they just create a resonant response in ones heart whenever one gets to read them.

Hello whywiki,
I always have the intention to write children's book but I know that I am not good at writing and a little bit impatient sometimes. I wrote many short stories when I was a teenager but I didn't keep them. After so many years, I never tried to write again. I am not sure whether I still have a lot of ideas to write a book now...

During my high school days i attempted to write a book, actually it was a series, the story will revolve around five different space empires of some sort. Yes, its kinda geeky, hehehe. But as I put a plot for the story i become confuse because of the very large scope. Until, I call it quits.

I tried when I was in high school, too. And even send it to the publisher. Which never replied to me. lol But I understand, maybe my book is not yet that good for them to publish. Since then, I haven't tried again.

No, I have never written a book in my life. And I don't want to do it. Because I am not into writting that much. I like sports. And I am extremely sorry for your book because it takes time to create wonders but it take much much less time to destroy it. So in order to be happy in your life always leave the past behind.
Thanks for reading my response.
Goodbye

I am actually in the process of getting ready to write a book about my life..I'd started one a couple yrs ago but when my kids dad killed himself I went into a downward spiral and stopped writing..then a few months after that my computer crashed and I lost all of it (32 pgs).....After doing some serious thinking about it the past few months I'm planning on starting over....

I feel so sad you lost your written copy of your book. How much you must have planned and took time to write that book, I can imagine. Well, I wrote some dramas and stories and some were published in books and magazines too. But I wanted to write my own life story and started with a chapter. It came out very well too. There are so many interesting turning points and surprises in my life story. But then I thought why should people know about my personal life? So I left it off. But one day, may be, I will continue to write that.

I've writen short stories in the same universe and a friend helped by writing a connecting line that turned them into a unified set of stories. More than enough words to be a novel, but just connected short stories. Also she and another friend also wrote some stories in the universe. I think they are pretty good.

Oh, I've tried to write a book a few times. Both times fiction and I found that writer's block comes very quickly to me. It was fun while it lasted. Now I'm thinking more that a blog would be a better idea for now. I don't know that I'd do a public one until I had it all set up the way I'd like it. As for your book, if I were you I'd give it a try again, with the computer at hand it should go quickly. You'll find out if you're enjoying writing and that's what counts in my opinion. whit
