Has your cat ever eaten something that made it hallucinate?

My cat is freaking out! She can hardly walk and she will be just laying there and then all of a sudden she will freak out like something is attacking her and she is defending herself. I have no idea what she ate or licked, but this is awful! She won't eat or drink either.
Has this ever happened to your cat?
How long does it last?

Dont remember this ever happening to any cat ive ever had. The whole thing sounds very serious, hopefully its just something temporary. I would also really like to hear about what the vets say, after you get the oppertunity to take your cat to them.

Well, I'm not going anywhere right now because I can hear the storm approaching now and I've lost satelight connection twice so, I'm logging out and getting ready for the storm. I'll let everyone know what happens.

Well we all made it through the rough weather last night. The cats sleep with us at night and I'm glad they do because I was able to keep a good eye on her. She is the same today, she won't eat or drink. She isn't freaking out as much though. She is sound asleep on my bed now.

OMG drannhh! What a wonderful drawing/logo you made for me! You are the best!
I can't take her to the vet because we are under tornado watches until 11pm. :-(

My cat has drank Incense oil before and he went crazy, foaming at the mouth and all. Pick up your cat by the scruff of her neck and pour some water down her throat, you never know if it was poisonous or not. Safe bet its not since she inst foaming at the mouth but better safe than sorry.

She isn't foaming at the mouth, but I already put two syringes of water into her.

No. It wasn't catnip. She is much better now. The vet says that we will probably never know what it was that she ate. Whatever it was, it totally messed up her equilibrium. She holds her head to the side now and walks kinda funny, but she is back to being the old Jill.

Do you have plants in the house that she may have gotten into? Several common household plants are toxic to cats.
If she's not eating/drinking, you should get her to a vet before its too late.

We don't have any toxic plants in the house. I checked. She is an outside/inside cat. We live on a farm. Maybe it was a lizard or a frog? I'll take her to the vet tomorrow if she doesn't improve. She is sound asleep on my bed right now and we are under tornado watches until 11pm.
