what type of rice to use? cooked rice? or not cooked rice?

You should use 'pudding rice' which has a shorter and rounder grain than 'long grain'. There are several trditional rice pudding recipes here: http://www.homemade-dessert-recipes.com/rice-pudding-recipes.html

hey, i think the rice which owlwings was saying is the rice which we use normally in Malaysia. As far as i know, the long grain rice is like basmathi rice and taj mahal brand rice...so just use the normal rice which if am not mistaken the price is around RM 2.5/kg

I've always made it starting with uncooked rice, just plain short grain or long grain, whatever I have on hand.

I am using our normal rice in Malaysia the uncooked rice grain and cook them with milk. I think the uncooked rice is better because it will be more sticky when they are done. Hey don't worry about the rice pudding because all this while i am only using our normal rice and my pudding turn out without nothings wrong.

i eat cooked rice or fried rice too because simple rice are only tastes good when u eat with some delicious thing. but fied rices are always good too eat.
