Ok so I think in my lifetime I have been to like 30 weddings, kinda a lot for how young I am but here is my delema or confusion. Why is the food the same at every dam wedding? I get it roast beef or chicken gotta have the salad and potatoes. I have had enough I know I will get married one day ( hopefully soon) and I want my wedding to be different. I know some of you out there have had some unique weddings. Please fill me and give me some ideas to make my reception different.

I was at 2 separate receptions in the past year & they both had awesome food! One was catered by a BBQ place. They had BBQ ribs, BBQ chicken & plain grilled chicken, along with a bunch of different picnic salads, regular garden salad, relish tray, mashed potatoes, rolls & butter.
The other had filet mignon and grilled chicken, along with roasted potatoes, garden salad, relish tray, rolls & butter.
I really enjoyed the food at both. I know it's hard to afford filet mignon unless you're having a small reception but BBQ chicken & ribs plus a plain chicken for those weirdos like my sister *grin* who don't like BBQ is a GREAT choice!

I want to let you know about the worst reception I've ever been to! I drove 3 hours for this wedding, stayed in a hotel, gave them $100 and they literally had a meat tray, chips and a cash bar. I even had to pay for my store brand diet pop the bar stocked. ICK!
If all you can afford are cold cuts, have a desserts only reception. Your guests will appreciate knowing ahead of time that they should eat at a restaurant first. LOL
Basically, I drove 3 hours, spent $300 (gas, monetary gift, hotel) and starved.

We didn't have roast beef or chicken at our reception. We had different. We had our wedding reception catered by Fazolis. It is a quick food pasta place. And it was terrific. We had 3 different kinds of pasta. Marinara, alfredo, and Alfredo with broccoli and tomatoes. we had salad 2 dressings ranch, and italian. Unlimited breadsticks which were YUMMY. We had the Submarino sandwiches. FUN FOOD!

Nice idea I would have never thought of that. I might just have to keep that in mind. Was it very expensive?

We had southern food.. comfort food. Fried chicken, baked beans, corn, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cole slaw, etc. It was very good!
