Anyone else got this upper respiratory flu?

I have this too and I have had mine for about a week now. It first started off with a neckache, headache, and earache. I had that for a few days along with a burning sensation that moved all over my head, mainly in the back of it. Now I have a soar throat, chest congestion and a runny nose at times. No medicine seems to help either. My daughter has it now, but i sure hope my husband doesn't get it.

I am avoiding it like the plague so far.(very bad joke) I have been exposed, I have had my flu shot. I know they say this year's shot does not work but I am knocking on wood. I also eat lots of salsa and things with hot spices. When I have the sore throat and other respiratory things I eat fresh pineapple, and eat things with horseradish. Apple cider vinegar and honey by the spoonful, equal parts is also very soothing and healing. I work in a school and also in a residential program, the disease of the week for two weeks was stomach virus, moving on to pink eye, complimented by Influenza A. I cannot even manage to get sick. I guess I am just too busy.LOL

I end up getting it every winter and usually a few other goodies too like pnemonia, bronchitis, strep throat and larengitis. I did find out last year that a C-pack (I think it's called) worked like magic on it. This year I'm getting the flu shot and keeping a close on it so if I start to get sick I can catch it before it gets too bad. [b]**AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~[/b]

One of my friends and her husband got it and they ran temps of 102 for three days! They both went to the doctor and got prescription cough syrup too...She said she felt like you did! Hope you get over it soon!

Yes, it's horrible and people everywhere are getting it. My son started out with it first. He's had it for about 2 weeks now. He also ended up with a horrible ear infection that was about ready to rupture when I got him to the doctor's office. He's still coughing and spitting up phlegm. My father-in-law got it last week and had some high fevers with uncontrollable shaking and vomiting. My daughter started getting it last week. She was complaining that her throat hurt and she had a bad headache. I started coming down with the sore throat Friday night and slept through the entire weekend. I was awake maybe 2 hours cumulatively on Saturday. A few more awake hours on Sunday but not by much. I still have the congestion and phlegm. My husband came down with it Saturday morning. All we've been doing is lots of cough drops, DayQuil during the day, NyQuil at night and use Mucinex throughout the day and night to help loosen the phlegm and get rid of it. Hope it helps! I'll be glad when we are over it and I can open the windows and let the fresh air in and the ill air out :)
