This stuff is kicking me in the butt. Anyone else get it yet? Any miracle cures or something that will help with the sore throat, coughing, headache? Feeling like I been run over by a truck and it backed over me three or four times!!!
I guess it's going around pretty bad. My son got it at school and was nice enough to share it with me. I know I'm tired of it.
So who else has it?

I have this too and I have had mine for about a week now. It first started off with a neckache, headache, and earache. I had that for a few days along with a burning sensation that moved all over my head, mainly in the back of it. Now I have a soar throat, chest congestion and a runny nose at times. No medicine seems to help either. My daughter has it now, but i sure hope my husband doesn't get it.

Yeah. I have to get to the store to buy us some vitamins. I have tried to get rid of this but every medication I have taken so far doesn't help. It came on me overnight and I got it first and don't know how because I never go anywhere. My husband and my daughter both work and she goes to school also. I gave it to her, I guess and I need to make sure my husband does not get sick with it. I hate it and want it gone.

Yup, that's how I started off too, and it's progressed into this cough that feels like a million needles poking my chest. It's no fun, and I stayed away from my kid trying not to get it. Didn't work. You might have your hubby get on some vitamin C as a precaution.
thanks for the post.

I am avoiding it like the plague so far.(very bad joke) I have been exposed, I have had my flu shot. I know they say this year's shot does not work but I am knocking on wood. I also eat lots of salsa and things with hot spices. When I have the sore throat and other respiratory things I eat fresh pineapple, and eat things with horseradish. Apple cider vinegar and honey by the spoonful, equal parts is also very soothing and healing. I work in a school and also in a residential program, the disease of the week for two weeks was stomach virus, moving on to pink eye, complimented by Influenza A. I cannot even manage to get sick. I guess I am just too busy.LOL

Well, I didn't get a flue shot, I'm not usually around too many people so it's never been a concern, but lo and behold, I got it this time.
I can't remember the recipe for a hot tottie... prolly don't got the right ingredients... tequila, rum, honey and I have some kalua, not sure any of theose would help.
I been staying at home as much as possible and only going out to do chores. Hoping I'll start feeling better....
Thanks for the post!!

I end up getting it every winter and usually a few other goodies too like pnemonia, bronchitis, strep throat and larengitis. I did find out last year that a C-pack (I think it's called) worked like magic on it. This year I'm getting the flu shot and keeping a close on it so if I start to get sick I can catch it before it gets too bad.

In order for me to get a prescription, I have to drive 90 miles to see a doctor, because i Have to be seen through the VA, and the closest one is 90 miles. Otherwise, I have to pay out of pocket, and I can't afford that. I have an appointment for Friday with the Dentist at the VA and if I'm not better by then, I'll be dropping in to see the doctor, I've tried to call and tell them I'm sick, but they haven't returned my calls. I could go through the emergency room at the next closest one, that is 120 miles away, but, I'm afraid if I do, they'll put me in the hospital because I'm honnestly feeling like I have walking pneumonia. My chest hurts so bad, and worse when I cough.
Hope your friend is better soon!

Yes, it's horrible and people everywhere are getting it. My son started out with it first. He's had it for about 2 weeks now. He also ended up with a horrible ear infection that was about ready to rupture when I got him to the doctor's office. He's still coughing and spitting up phlegm. My father-in-law got it last week and had some high fevers with uncontrollable shaking and vomiting. My daughter started getting it last week. She was complaining that her throat hurt and she had a bad headache. I started coming down with the sore throat Friday night and slept through the entire weekend. I was awake maybe 2 hours cumulatively on Saturday. A few more awake hours on Sunday but not by much. I still have the congestion and phlegm. My husband came down with it Saturday morning. All we've been doing is lots of cough drops, DayQuil during the day, NyQuil at night and use Mucinex throughout the day and night to help loosen the phlegm and get rid of it. Hope it helps! I'll be glad when we are over it and I can open the windows and let the fresh air in and the ill air out :)

well I got some tylenol cold that is for sore throat, cough, fever, and that seems to help for about 4hours at a time. but man, this is awful. To top it off, nobody here to help with chores, so I'm having to go out in the cold twice a day to care for horses and dogs. Fever has gotten as high as 101.4, and I'm dowing apple juice and tylenol hoping it passes soon.
Thanks for the post, hope your family is doing better too!
