maybe some people are worried to try. but i think, there is no problem! i used to be a relay oper and i think there are many couples where one can hear and one cannot. as long as there is some way to communicate, it would be fine. your lady could learn some sign language, or just pay close attention to your facial expressions or body language (or voice, if you can speak).
