I love using a daily planner, but I wish you could find them all year long. For the most part you can only buy them at the first of the year, with the exception of refill pages. It would appear its a seasonal item. Do you use a daily planner or an online calendar program? And by the way does anyone know a good free calendar program for pc's?

Yes, I'd like an online program, I just haven't been able to find one I like without having to pay for it, which I don't want to do.

I do not use a daily planner, though I think they are a wonderful tool. I do use a calendar, however, and I have a journal book that keep important information in regarding telephone conversations and confirmation numbers etc... if not I would never be able to keep track of anything - so I guess in a way I use a daily planner, just not in a daily planner type of format.

I guess a day planner could be anything you considered it to be if you are documenting the same information.

I use to use planners when I was working and they did come in handy and helped me prioritise my work.
I now use a calendar, hardcopy and one on my gmail email account which I share with my husband. We use that to record all bills due and amounts and important appointment dates. He can update it and I can see the changes and vice versa since we each have our own gmail account. Since he pays the bills I go through and send him an email reminder of the bills due each week. Then once he pays them, he goes back in and marks them PAID. Seems a lot of work but it works for us.
My hardcopy one I use to keep note of my sons appointments, volunteering at his school, birthdays, and day to day stuff I need reminding on.

If its a system that works for you thats great. My boyfriends system is just throwing them the bills into a box and the same with the receipts. It drives me nuts. I am much more organized when it comes to paperwork usually.

I don't like using my mobile phone. I think it takes twice as long to enter the information as it does for me to write it down.

If you forget events, how come you haven't started using some kind of calendar program? Just wondering, not judging by any means.

Hi there! I don't have a daily planner and I think that I don't need it. If there's a special day that should be remembers, I just mark them on the calendar hung in our dining room or set an alarm for it in my mobile phone.

I usually mark events both on my calendar, but I carry a day planner with me, because, obviously I don't want to take the calendar off of the wall.

I have an Apple computer that comes with a great piece of software that has the catchy name "iCal". All Apple programs are interactive so, for example, if I update my calendar with an address, it automatically asks if I want to put this into my database of contacts. There must be 100s of calendars for Windows. Try www.Download.com, that's the CNET site, they have stacks of stuff there. Good luck.

You know I consider myself pretty computer literate, but I have never used an Apple computer. I would really like the opportunity though to get to know the software.

I think it takes longer to input the information into your phone than it does to just write it down quickly.

I like daily planners, but I tend to fade out of using them when I do have one. Mainly due to the bulkiness of them. I even tried the pocket versions but then would never transfer info over leading to having items in two places. Totally what planners are supposed to prevent. I have bought one again this year and am trying to do better.
