I don't know about the specific domestic relations code where you are located but in New York, a marriage license typically expires after 60 days of the date it was oringally issued.

It takes to much emotions to build a marriage then to think a few years it will expire i don't think people would work as hard to stay together then and more people would get married in a hurry if they knew it wasn't going to be a forever thing instead of trying to find mr.or mrs. right.. so no i do not think it should expire i'm sure alot of divorce lawyers would agree with me because then they would lose alot of business..lol..But no because most times kids would be involved and thats just just messes things up..i do think they should have a license though making them wait a year before marriage so people do not rush into things and then they wouldn't need a divorce so often..

I am thinking that a marriage license should expire, with this thought. You shouldn't get the license until maybe 2 weeks before the wedding. But it should expire in 30 days. You should purchase another one, if not married by that date. I see that to be the only way a marriage license would expire. After marriage NO absolutely not.

No. Because that would be like saying your marriage has expired. Besides what would be the point? Driver's licenses, dog licenses, and other licenses expire for a reason. But a marriage license is just a piece of paper saying that you are married. It should never expire.
