I have installed vista and got into trouble with my internet connection, it didn't detect my LAN connection while it showed other users of my network. i checked all my settings which i used for XP but still its not working and showed unidentified network. I did search for it and found that vista requires a particular proxy server settings. I also enable the proxy using some commands mentioned at the site but it didn't work.

Oh I am dreading the day my techy says its time to upgrade to Vista, I have heard so many bad things about it but my techy says it is just a matter of time or we will be left behind, I wish they would stop changing technology...

I wish to know a few things such as what type of Internet do you subscribe to, is it broadband, DSL or wireless? You will need a router that is compatible to Vista which means you may need to upgrade your router's drivers or buy a new router. Due to new versions of Operating Systems, the configurations and settings are different compared to older versions.
