blogging for money

a friend asked me how he could do this i.e be involved in blogging to make money i have tried in my little way to explain but he seems not to understand anyone here who has a resource or experience that can help?

I'm not making a killing blogging but its some nice extra income if you are a good writer and it seems to grow (the income) with time. I blog/write on hubpages, one of my friends there wrote an excellent article explaining it all:

I came upon this one site that pays you pretty well to write comments on other people's websites. but I guess you needed to have your own website that gets roughly 2 comments per week and I forgot how many visitors. I have a blogger but I don't get enough visitors for me to do that, so that was out of the question. Would be nice though.
