Putting music on my Razr

I have a Razr2 and really want to put music on it. But I don't want to pay to download because I have such a huge library on my computer. I was told it would cost $80 for the cord, software and memory card. After talking to a teenager friend of mine, he said I could use the usb cord from my digital camera to connect my phone to the computer. Which I can do, it fits. Then just get a memory card (he's giving me an extra one of his - I don't have it yet). He mentioned I that I could also download the software from the internet. In theory, this sounds like it should work fine. Has anyone else done this or know of how it works? Please let me know!

I used to have a Razr v3m through verizon, and it was really easy to put music on it. I didn't even need the cord to plug it in to the computer. If you have the memory card and a card reader then you could possibly just transfer the songs you want onto the card then put it back in your phone. I don't know what carrier you have for your phone, thus what software your phone is using, but this might work. If it doesn't work them you could use the mini usb cable to connect the phone to your computer, and your service provider might have the software available for you to download off their website. I've done it both ways.

i can't get a thing to get music on my phone.
i have a cord but do i need a cd or somthing??? or d i nee to dowload somthing off the internet, if i do need/can download it off the internet how do i and what is it called and how do i get it up????????
please help me!!!!!

if you have bought your razr2 as brand new,it comes with its own data cable and application cd with it were you can use to download music or videos...but if you dont have it with you you can try using a bluetooth dongle to download music in you mobile...programs for your mobile can be downloaded in its site for free...

So, it took me forever to get back to this dicussion, but I discovered that the lady did not know what phone she was selling me and told me it was a razr2 and it's not. It's a Motorazr. Then to make a very long story short, I was told it would never cost so much and then I got it for 1/2 off, so it was around $15, for all my trouble.
