Did Anyone Warn YOU?

Nobody warned me! I though my body would get weaker, with aches and pains as I grew older but not this young. I thought it happened at about 70 or so. Well for me, it is happening much younger. No body warned me that it would happen this soon. Anytime I mention that nobody warned me, everyone just laughs. Evidently I am not the only one who was not warned. Were you warned?

No I wasn't warned neither, hehe. I sometimes think I have my nerve to be feeling my age. What the heck are we going to do when we really get old.

Nobody actually warned me, but I used to hear people talking about and thought not too much about it. I'm only 38 and now I think I should have listened harder. My back and knees took a beating in the military as well as an accident so there are lots of days when I get home that I have to sit in the car for a few minutes before I can get out.

exactly how old are you? Maybe there is something more wrong than just the normal aging process. how bad is it? I mean, i'm 51 and i get some aches and pains but nothing too much. Im pretty healthy i think.

I remember my Grandma complaining about her aches and pains. I always thought it came along with old age. Now that I am 50 I have more aches and pains than when I was 25. I don't remember signing up for this! Oh well, whatcha gonna do. It happens to the best of us.

I have some aches and pains and arthritis, but my family talked all the time (too much) about aches and pains. I do not have anything less common than arthritis in my joints. In many ways I am stronger now than when I was younger. Maybe it is just all in my mind, but I know I work harder than I did at twenty something.

Yes. My mom kept warning me that I would not feel so good later in my life if I kept slaving and working so hard. I just cannot slow down though but since I have aged, I can sure tell the difference in the way my body has changed and feels with the aches and pains sometimes.

I was warned but you know I could tell a difference when I was around 40 so your doing better than me. It's depressing because my mind still goes 90 miles an hour but my poor old body just can't keep up.

I was warned. When I hit 30. When I hit 40. And every year after my 40th. The pain has been the same. It keeps getting longer to get over it. Although when I stretch before I do something stupid (like jump into a pick-up soccer game), it's not too bad.

I wasn't warned either. Sometimes I feel like a 70 year old trapped in a 27 year olds body.

I don't know about warning but aches and pains at really early ages might not be just aging but something that one should see one's doctor about instead of just accepting this as something that happens. Its a lot like so many people buy into the idea that anyone in their seventies or eighties is necessarily going to become senile. This is just not true. whatever aches and pains one has usually have a real cause and can be relieved by proper care. as for us oldsters we can keep our minds sharp by living fully. doing crossword puzzles, reading . taking lessons on something new, just living as though you were thirty and in love with learning new things and being fully alive. age is relative.

warned about aches and pains? Not really, I have never given it a thought before. As it is my left knee is left weak after unaccustomed trekking over a long distance within a span of a week so now I have continuous knee pain. I don’t go to a doctor coz all they will do is take an x-ray, prescribe some costly medicines and then recommend knee-replacement or something like that. I tolerate the pain, sometimes I do some simple exercises, rub some ointment, rest the leg and move on. I cant walk fast enough on the road and am always afraid of the knee suddenly giving way. The other day, I don’t know how, I twisted the base of my left thumb. Now maybe it would be OK if I could rest it, but will all the work around, I could not afford to do that. So now it seems, my left thumb is permanently weakened from the base. I cant stretch my thumb backward or hold onto something very tightly. Other than that, I am in no severe pain. I dislike visiting docs except in very severe cases. I have not been warned as such but I believe it will come eventually. I have seem my mom and MIL suffer…nothing serious or continuous or unbearable but just the joints not being their normal self especially on full moon and new moon nights.

Ha! Too funny. You made me go and look at your profile before I replied. LOL Anyway, we are about the same age. I'm 44. Yes it is true that I get hurt easier and it takes longer for me to heal now. I do try and stay as active as possible. I have 5 acres and stay really busy outside and that helps a lot. I also have two sons at home that like for me to play games outside with them as well. We are hoping to adopt a little girl soon and I'm sure she will keep me on my toes too.

I can´t believe nobody warn you. Do you watch TV? Do you read books? In all places there are warnings on how to be carefull with your health and how you have to do exercises and some sport to keep your body health. I guess that sound to me like an warning. ;)
