yesterday on wednesday afternoon, a prisoner escaped from the jail and he's no ordinary prisoner either. he's actually the head of the jemaah islamiya here in singapore.(a terrorist basically)
he had planned to hijack a plane and crash it at the airport here and had even planned around 7 spots to bomb here.
now my husband and all the other men here within the camp where i stay have been deployed. they still have not found him. it's said that he's not known to be armed but we never know. all the women here are worried especially for their husbands.
i hope that this suspect is apprehended soon. i'm sure there's going to be an intense investigation here too on how he managed to escape though personally, i think he's been planning it for years, all the time while he's been in jail; looking for weaknesses.

I saw the report on the papers today too.
I was there wondering why they were suddenly talking about how secure the prison there is... but the fact remains that he escaped!
I shudder to think of what might possibly happen if he starts creating havoc. I worry which innocents in Singapore might be harmed by him. It doesn't matter whether I know these people because I hate anything bad happening to anyone.
I hope he can be caught soon, if not already. Such dangerous people just don't fit in this society. I don't know his background but here I am wondering why he wasn't hanged and just jailed. Surely terrorism is a big enough crime to warrant that.

Oh gosh. The possibility you just mentioned is very worrying. If he escaped with the help of a group of fellow terrorists, this means they are free to roam and create havoc in Singapore.
I really hope these people just go away. Find a piece of land, dig a bunker, hide themselves there and just bomb themselves or something. Why must they persist in causing harm to others?
Tomorrow. Strait Times. I hope the front page report will be one of how he was caught. Let it be so please.

Yes. I am also astonished why did terrorist easily escape from the jail, in Indonesia, Phillipine, and your country. We have to pay attention that TERRORIST is not work ALONE they are indeed ORGANIZED, they need fund and friends ! Treat them as fish, that it can not alive without water. Water is our society ! But I am sure Singapore will more easy to handle terror because your society back ground will not condussive or not fertile for terrorism .... (sorry for my late answer, I was leaving for some hours) see you again.

don't worry about the delay in replying. it's not that necessary if you're not interested, i don't mind. though i appreciate the response.
yes, they should know that terrorists usually are from an organization. i also have hope that terrorism will not spring up that easily here but with one escaped, we still need to be really careful. do take care and have a great day. thanks for responding.

Oh dear how frightening - I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers for protection and comfort.
It certainly does seem something went wrong in the jail for this man to be able to get out.

thanks so much for your kind consideration. yes, apparently he must have found out a weakness within the jail to be able to get out not to mention that he was actually the head of the network itself. no wonder he managed to escape. the only problem is whether the police and army will be able to apprehend him. do take care of yourselves too. so far, there's nothing much to worry about here but still, he is a terrorist so we have to always be on our toes too. we can't really go out, we can but it's dangerous. thanks so much for responding. i appreciate it.

Well, we live now just a few miles from one of the largest prisions in the US. It's been here for I believe close to 100 years although some years back it moved it's location outside of town where it is now. We don't have many escapes now days but years back it did happen alot - my ex-in-laws had one found hiding in their barn years back. It's scarey!
