i know of some people who are called "kiss a**".. just because they seem to want to please people, may it be the one their talking to or their friend, etc.
because sometimes it doesn't look sincere anymore like they're agreeing because they don't want you to feel bad and because that's what the they think the person wants to hear.. i think its a load of s***.
are you a people pleaser too?

I am one of the world's biggest people pleasers. For me it is actually a problem because I let people walk all over me. I don't necessarily agree with what people say per se, but I tend to make decisions based on what will make other people happy rather than taking my own needs and wishes into consideration.

Once upon a time I was a people pleaser. But not any more. Now I don't want people around me and don't like to mingle with people, not even with dear ones. I am thinking these days why I am like this, and would like to come out of it. May be my past experiences made me like this.

thanks for your response..
well i am as i say "anti-social"..
i don't like mingling with new people i don't enjoy meeting new acquaitances. i'm probably like this because i have issues about trusting people.. from where i came from people are like leeches and they will stab you at the back whenever they get the chance to.. so i guess i am an introvert because i lived in that kind of environment where i can only trust and depend on myself.

well I try to be but with mixed success. In my early youth, when I had lot of misplaced self-belief I was under the impression that I could conquer the world on my own. Years of struggle and losing out to others have taught me that no, sometimes it is in my interest to kiss the a** as you say. I have done it, I have felt bad, I have reasoned with myself that I really needed what I got after the kissing. Wouldn’t say I love it though or that I have made a habit of it, I think its one of the many necessary evils of life. But there are people who have a permanent smile pasted on their face. They are forever agreeing to everybody around them, nodding their heads in (false) appreciation and supporting everybody against everybody. I hate these types. They are always trying to keep feet in all the boats around them, they don’t want to antagonize anybody and are forever willing to bow down and salute. I am not and will never be like them.

I would definitely NOT do that! I am not that kind of person who would put my feet in all boats just to please everyone. I don't think that my pride would allow me to do that. Moreover, my ancestors might wake up from their graves and haunt me if ever. lol! I almost lost my job because I am not like the others in our office who would just say yes to the whims and caprices of our boss.

One thing is that i don't suck up to anyone..i don't really think that my pride would ever let me do that..because I am not someone that goes to people and ask them for something...but i do try to please people if there is anyway that i could do it..but i wont let people just run all over me...so i guess that iam in between

This is what i learned, that if you try to please people you will not please anybody not even yourself.
