Have you ever given a public speech?

I have given a public speech as i was the headboy of my school and college. The fear of stage appearence is very common among people and i used to get it initially but then i got used to it and i no longer cared i just went up there and told what i had to thats all.
Did anyone here give a public speech? how did you feel, nervous?

I did back in college. I was the president of a student organization and we sponsored a contest. One of our guest did not arrive on time for the opening remarks so being the president i was forced to give my opening remarks just to start the program. It was nerve-wrecking especially because it was impromptu and i didn't even expect that i will speak in front of a group that day. But it did turn out ok.

I don't really know if you would call it a public speech or not but i remember doing the talent show when i was in like first grade or something like that i got up infront of the whole school and parents and just kind of did what i was suppose to do...again i dont know if you call that a public speech or not..but thats what i did...
