During school days I allow my kids to watch Tv for at most an hour only. After dinner they should do school work, assignments, and lessons. On weekend I allow them them more time. Usually I impose the schedule and no TV or computer games inside the bedroom. To minimize viewing TV I think of other activity where we can all be together on weekends.

well my son is addicted to TV too. Its my fault really coz initially when he was really small, I used to make him sit in front of the TV so that I had some free time to do my own things. Now this has boomeranged and I am desperate to control it. His attention and concentration in other matters has reduced drastically and his grades in school are falling too. I have now become very strict and after a lot of pandemonium between us, I have now succeeded in limiting his TV time to max of two hours and that also when he returns from school in the afternoon. Around that time, he usually has lunch and then goes to sleep so before that he can watch some TV. But no TV in the evenings and during dinner time. But very soon school will be over and again he will have nothing much to do so I will have to give in to his demands of watching TV.
