I Had A Really Bad Dream - Does Anyone Know What It Might Mean?

Just recently I have been suffering nightmares, and each time they are getting worse and they actually wake me up and stay with me for quite a while. Usually I can look them up and find out what they mean but with this one I am a bit stuck. I had this one last night and it was horrible. In my dream I went to bed and in my dream my head started itching and stinging, it was so real it woke me up for real and I was sweating and my head really was stinging. I went back to sleep and went straight back into the same dream. In the dream I was just about to put my head on my pillow when I noticed that there was a bunch of really small flies hovering over my pillow, I pointed it out to my husband and when we had a look at the pillow it was full of bugs and maggots. I became really hysterical and then I started to notice that maggots were under my skin and they were hatching through my skin!! Then I noticed a big bulge in my side and this huge black bug thing with wings was starting to hatch out just below my rib cage, my husband tried to pull it out but I could feel it pulling on my insides and I was screaming at him please dont pull it out get an ambulance. But it came out on its own and it left a huge hole in my side and I could see inside me. But then as well we started noticing that there were bugs all over the house and there was huge sticky messes all over the house where these bugs were hatching and we could not get rid of them and there were big maggots, it was so disgusting and I was so scared that I woke up, I was scared that if I went back to sleep I would go straight back into the dream so I got up and stayed up for a while. I have tried to find out what it might mean by looking on various sights, but I cannot find anything and I just wandered if anyone might know and be able to tell me?

Hi Gemini, Just was scanning your started discussions today, and was wondering if your nightmares have settled down and left you in peace. Hope so. Sweet dreams tonight!

Hi Loen210 thank you for your concern thats very nice of you, I have had a few nights where I have awoken suddenly and I am very sweaty but I cannot recall the dreams, so they must have settled down because if they are important you can usually recall them in some way. If I get anymore though I shall let you know!

Gem, I'm glad they seem to have at least lessened. Still, I know nightmares are NOT fun and haunt us. They are also the ones that we remember so much more vivid and long term than pleasant dreams (if you read one of my past discussions it talks about this). Do you or have you tried wiht thigns to sleep more calmy like listening to happy or sweet music as you sleep? I listen to either soft rock or classical music every night when I sleep. You lull to sleep nicely. Another way is if you listening to humorous or happy and cute books on tape as you sleep. I fell asleep listening to a book a few weeks ago, and though much of it was good, I woke up yelling out loud, with a nightmare of me being battered and teased by classmates. After waking up, it turned out a part that had played during my sleep had the same thing happening as my nightmare. So, you often dream what you hear! Try the music thing at least.
