The foreign media revealed today that Prince Harry has been actively serving in Afghanistan for the last 10 weeks. UK media kept their word and di not reveal. Has this now put him in grave danger, has it put his unit in danger. Is he now a prime target for the Taliban? He sees himself as an everyday guy doing his job which he fought to do when then wouldn't let him go to Iraq last year. In fact he contemplated leaving the services as what was the point if he couldn't do his job, but because of who he is and it has now been found out that he is frontline should he be bought home for not only his safety but for the safety of the good men that are serving with him. Thoughts and views please and God bless our troops. Ellie :D

What is UK trying to prove in the first place. They keep it a secret and then somehow or rather it is exposed. I got the news from CNN today. The world at large knows his wherabouts. What now? He would now make a good target for the demands of the enemy.

yes it was first top secret and then released. What i hear is that foreign media got old of the story and were about to release it anyway, so the government released the story

It was the foreign media that expose it the UK kept quite and were not trying to prove anything. Prince Harry himself wanted to actively serve and when he wasn't allowed to go to Iraq last year thought about leaving. He has been a great job out there but now the world is aware he is now a prime traget for enemy like you say. Thanks for sharing. Ellie :D

I think that he is doing a fine job and that we should be proud that he is prepared to do his bit. I don't see much point in him being in the Army if he can never do the job. I heard on the news that the Army are pulling him out. This is the right thing to do now. He is a liability to himself and his troops now that his cover is blown. I have always regarded the media as liability, and whilst it's not the UK people this time, they have shown yet again that in their eyes that human life comes a very poor second to selling newspapers.

Yes I too have learnt that he is coming home, but he won't be happy about it though. He managed 10 weeks of active (very active frontline duties) so well done Harry. God bless all the troops out there. Ellie :D
Oh by the way didn't you have a long drive to do today and how is your house full of uni students. Ellie :D

The fact that harry has been out there for ten weeks without the British state releasing knowledge of it and the British press not publishing details shows just how much danger he is in, now it has become public knowledge of course he is a prime target. Imagine the publicity coup if one of these groups of mad muslim mullahs got hold of him? Also, i think it makes us all realise just how dangerous the situation is for all our troops out there
blessed be

It just doesn't bear thinking about does it, what have the people who leaked this got to gain from it. UK press don't keep quiet about much so yes keeping quiet on this does prove that he is now in immediate danger from the enemy, oh what a trophy he would be for them. God bless Harry and all the other troops serving out there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Ellie:D

Not sure it puts him in more danger than it did before, as all of our soldiers in Afghanistan are targets. I would have thought the Taliban would have decent enough intelligence sources to have known before hand anyway

Yes he is: I'm sure certain people would love to kidnap him and release various videos.
He is keeping up the Royal Family tradition and it is good that he had some experience, especially in such a dangerous conflict.
It might stop some people regarding Prince Harry as a complete "hooray Henry" who is not very intellegent an simply parties all the time.
I'll volunteer to look after Chelsey why she is alone!!

i was realy shocked when i heard this i heard it was the us press and no what who let the information slip i cant believe they would do that because now not only is prince harry prime suspect but so is the rest of his troop.
i also think that the army shouldnt have let him go out there knowing how risky it would be not just gor them but for his troops and they were kidding themselves if they thought they could keep it secret.

I was totally shocked when I heard this news. I think the Press is totally irresponsible to reveal this. As you say it is not only Prince Harry that is in danger but also all the men and women who serve with him. Shame, shame for whomever spilled the beans.

I also feel the Press has been irresponsible and reckless in revealing this news with details of regiment and all. Now I think he would be called back before completing his tenure there. This was a dangerus piece of informationa dn atleast someone should have had sense to keep a mum on this one and may be they could have told this once he was safe back at home. As far as I know , in army you are not supposed to reveal your name and rank and regiment of even an ordinary officer or soldier and here they have just ripped of the security of sch an high profile personnel. Its a shame on the press.

I have a feeling theyre secretly watching him to ensure his safety (possible unbeknownst even to him). You cannot tell me he's treated the same as "everyone else." Maybe he thinks he is because they dont tell him, but i'm sure theyre watching him to make sure he doesnt get hurt.

It's really hard to say what could happen now, but Prince Harry is serving for his country and I don't think that by him going home it's gonna make any difference. they could just target him there as well. I think that what he's doing is great really. I mean he didn't have to join, but that is what he wanted to do and i totally respect him for that. i really can't say whether or not he should go home, but i'm sure he would be totally against it. thanks for sharing and God bless

Hello! I heard that story on the news today too. It seems to me that not only did the press put the Prince in danger, it also endangered his fellow troops and squad. I think he should moved right away before anything bad happens to him. Very admirable of him to be serving on the front lines just like everyone else. I wish him and his comrades safety and a speedy return home.

Yes that was my immediate thought but there is no way he would want to come home. This should not have been leaked as a news story, but like a previous response says he will have all the right equipment and a lot of extra protection whether he realises or not. Ellie :D
