Do you or does someone who has responded to your discussions feel you are too personal? I know I'm personal, I like to tell it all, and keep it real. Why? Because maybe one day I hope to meet some of you, and I truly consider my regulars that I communicate with, friends. And this way they know how I really am.

That's awsome. I don't feel like I have anything to hide either, but I think there are probably some discussions that other mylotters think I was too personal. Hey, my mom always said " don't do it if you can't admit to it". Meaning, if you aren't going to feel comfortable talking about what you've done then you should'nt do it, because that means you feel guilty, and you should never feel guilty about who you are.

Hi Dramaqn,
I get personal about myself on here all of the time (probably to much). I dont know if I'll ever meet anyone here or not(probably not), which makes it easier to air out some of personal life that I dont tell my closest friends. Interesting discussion!
Take care, Terry

I probably get a little too personal on here, but only once in a while. However I still keep it real by responding to discussions as honestly as I can, even if I don't get personal with my replies. Same goes for when I start a discussion.
I don't see ever actually meeting someone from here, unless we accidentally bumped into each other somewhere. :P

I guess that at times I am a little personal here on myLot. Perhaps because I already have considered most of the people here my real friends. I often sincerely sympathize and empathize with the people here. I have learned to love my myLot friends...

Oh, I can so relate to you on that same level. You do get close, and not only that but it shows how deep and true friendships were initally built and were maintained, long before the internet came along. This is just another version of a pen pal, and I love it.

Great topic! But, I believe in being honest and open. However, I believe in diplomacy and being tactful too on the net...anyone can read your stuff so you gotta be careful with what you say. My mom always told me if you don't want someone to see it don't write it...but if you're cool with it...so bet it...it's all good...

I'm the same way. I'm always honest, and I always share what I'm thinking and feeling. If someone actually read all of my posts, they could know a LOT about my personal history as well as my current life. I just don't see the point in interacting with people if I'm not going to be honest and open with them, especially if I'm going to consider them friends. And I do have quite a few wonderful friends here. :)
I can understand that some people prefer to keep things to themselves for safety reasons, or because being online is an escape for them, but that's just not my preference.

I don't get too personal because it isn't just friends who are reading these posts. So I consider that when ever I get to talking about myself..

I don't get TOO personal here. But I think that the people who MIGHT do it because of the anonymity of the internet. You tend to share stuff with people if you know your never going to meet them. It's less wierd that way.
I am in an internet group, however. We are a tight knit group, tho we have never met each other.. its a small group of 8 women that live all over the country. We WANT to meet, but it is doubtful that will happen anytime soon.
Interesting topic :)
