I am so mad right now and I figured this was a good outlet if any. My son's father, who has not been a part of his life since conception, angers me so. He is half of the most amazing thing ever created and he could care less. I have had an open child support case with him since my son was 4 months old. My son is now 22-months. The problem is that his father lives in a different state then we do and he was conceived overseas. I initially filed in April 05, he had to confirm some information in May 05 and then he disappeared for a year. Mind you, he is in the military and there were some things going on over where he is but still, how did he just disappear? So then I hear nothing from the child support office for almost a year and it's only to tell me we have to file an interstate case. That was March 06. Two weeks ago, I called to check up on them, as I have every other week since I filed this case and what do they tell me?! They closed the interstate office and are reassigning my case. On top of that, they don't have it in their system that the case was filed with the interstate office. I was sitting there with a copy of it in front of me. AH!!! I just got word on Friday that they were reconfirming the information I had on his father so they could file a paternity order. Blah blah blah, I haven't communicated with his father much since he reappeared after being gone for a year. I emailed him with updates on the case and what does he say?"All this seems like a dream." AH AGAIN!!! I'm done venting but I was wondering does anyone else have problems with their case or their baby's father??? I mostly just want to vent about baby's fathers. I guess the good news is that he was recently promoted so when this is over, I'll be getting more than I would have two years ago. Yeah!

Madam, is the father still in the military? If so, you are entitled to his basic allowance for housing and other subsistance. What branch of service is he in. I am in federal law enforcement officer and also a U.S. Marine with a Military Police Company. All you really need to do is find out what unit this guy works in and give the Commanding Officer of his unit a phone call. This will start the ball rolling in your favor. They will make sure that this money is given to you without exception. If he is not in the military, he has committed a federal crime. Whoever told you that you had to file an interstate case is wrong. Call the U.S. Attorney's office in your state and tell them the situation- they love prosecuting cases like this. They will ask for his information including full name, date of birth, social security number if available, and any other information you can supply. Please take this advice seriously. Your childs future is at stake! Good luck!

Hello marinejunkie, I commend you on giving this lady this good info. I have a different case and my son's father is not in the military. Go to my user info and find the discussion I started regarding my child support case. Mine is probably going to be a little bit of red tape but I'm sure that I will win in the end. I refuse to have him owe me over $15,000 and when I decide to hve him raise him for two years they might come after me for child support. I don't think that is right. Well get more info on my discussion. Kudos to you.

I can definately say I deal with two stupid baby fathers. One has not paid child support for 5 years now and the other is going on 2 years. Child support has been no help to me at all. After all these years I don't worry about it. I try my best to take care of them all on my own. One day they will be grown and see how much I went through and will be able to help me. Also this will teach them how to be a good father, by doing the oposite of theirs.

Welcome to my world . . . my daughter will be 18 and my case will close soon and he owes me over $15,000. I am in Michigan and he is (last I knew) in Arkansas. You would not believe the red tape . . . at least you know where yours works, if he works for the government, you will receive you support. It might take awhile, but I have had my order since my daughter was 7 and I am sure yours won't take anywhere near that long, since knowing where he works is the ticket! Good Luck.

It's really difficult to get support from irresponsible fathers but anyway, the support is just delayed, it will soon be coming, and as you said it will be increased. Just be patient to wait. May God bless you.
