My 17 year old son just signed up for the National Guard. The Sgt. promised him everything short of making him a movie star...$20,000.00 after he gets out of boot camp,paying for all of his college classes,even paying for his room and board while he is in school. I hope that the Sgt. is correct in everything he is telling my son but I have a hard time believing that. I come from a long line of Military family and I have seen and heard all the lies and promises,but have to admitt most of everything that was promised never amounted to anything. I just hope my son has not been hyped up by a bunch of empty promises. And please, don't get me wrong I'm pro-armed forces all the way I just don't want my son to be tricked by a bunch of jibberish!!!!!!!!!!!!(If you know what I mean)
