Washing the dishes is a homework that we don't like to do. I will wear plastic gloves when I wash them. First, it will protect my hands. Second, I won't feel so cold to wash them in winter. I don't think it's troublesome anyway. I already get used to it.

Over here, it is pretty much summer all year round.
I just wash the dishes with my bare hands.
So now, my hands are a wreck.:(

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
To honest, I love to protect my hands more... they look so sad. But gloves? Wouldn't it be so inconvenient to wash wearing gloves? Not to mention the yucky feel you get while wearing gloves...

I actually enjoy doing the dishes - can you believe it? I find it therapeutic :) though I never did get accustomed to wearing the rubber gloves, I do not like the smell of them, nor the fact that I can not feel the dishes I am washing - or the hot water :) though the few times I have used them in cleaning chores about the house it seemed I always got water down inside them and then my hands would slosh around in the glove and the glove insides would start to disintegrate. I guess I just am not dainty enough.

hmmm I just noticed my points went down several again. shoot. I have been trying like mad to get to 5060 tonight but they keep going less and less instead of more and more. grief, it does not look like any of my replies or discussions were deleted. how frustrating it is like running up a hill and stubbing your toe the whole way.

My husband normally does the dishes, he says he enjoys it and it makes his hands feel good.
I'll do them occasionally, and no, I don't wear gloves. I am very particular about things and they'd have to fit my hands perfectly or it would drive me nuts.

Yes, he is. I think I'll keep him.
:)
We don't work, so he says that's the least he can do since I do the cooking.

Actually I dont do dishes cause my mom wont let me...she always says that if I would be the one who'll going to wash the dishes all that Im gonna do is waste all the soap...lol...to be honest my mom really doesnt trust me about doing household chores. Anyway, whenever my mom washes the dishes she doesn't use any gloves and when I asked her why, she told me that when she wash the dishes w/o any gloves she could be sure off herself that the dishes are really cleaned well...unlike when shes wearing some gloves...

Well ever since my dishwasher broke yes Ive been using rubber gloves. My hands are very senstive and Im always putting hand lotion on them. I like to wash my dishes in real hot water so I can do that with rubber gloves on. I need to get my dishwasher fixed!

Yes most of the time I do use plastic gloves, but sometimes if I just wash one or two dishes, I wouldn't wear gloves. I think they protect our hands and we should use them more often.

I don't like to wear gloves while doing the dishes. I feel like I don't clean them properly and start to focus on the gloves I'm wearing (bright yellow ones!).

I find gloves troublesome and sometimes it can be hard to tell if there are residual dish-washing soap on the plate..
But there is a big difference when i use glove and when i dun. My hands maintains its smoothness when i have them on.

I have never used plastic gloves to wash dishes before. I dont understand why you would actually wear gloves when its just water that your hands are in. However at the end when your done it is kinda nasty. I hate putting my hand in and unplugging it.

For a guy I guess it's the macho image isn't it, what guy wants to be seen with marigolds or rubber gloves? Hardly masculine is it? Unless I am cleaning out the oven which I have to use harmful chemicals for so I need gloves on I will always work without them, I like putting my hands into hot water anyhow, it's kinda soothing and I find them more of a restraint than a help when washing up to be honest.

I don't use any gloves. I use hot water during the winter and it makes my skin to feel warm and good.
I use good washing solution to make sure my hands are not too dry....

Hi youless, I use rubber gloves only when there are lots of dishes for me to wash. There are plenty of dirty and oily dishes to be washed after having festive dinner. I use the gloves to protect my hands from the dish wash detergent which could make the skin of my hand rough.
