There had been several WWII related movies that was produced in the hollywood. Most of these stories takes place in either the European theatre, or Pacific theatre. Movies that I love to watch are the Windtalkers, Saving private ryan, tigerland, and among others. How about you fellow mylotters? whats your pick?

Indeed, there are lots of them made but only a few stands above them all!;)
Saving Private Ryan and Pearl Harbor tops my list, I like their plot and the film itself. I could even feel what those people felt during the D-day landing on Normandy, it must truly be a killing field there. And as for Pearl Harbor, the lives that were lost because they were either trapped or killed instantly when Japanese invaders crippled the Pacific Fleet.

Ahh yes, I forgot to mention the Pearl Harbor, it was one of the best WWII related movie, In history standpoint it was the turning point of the war when USA finally broke its silence from being neutral by declaring war to Japan, and the rest of the axis alliance.

for me it is The Great Escape. I think the whole film is a documentary on Sagon camp and the massacre of S.O.E agents under Hitler's commando policy. However, as usual history is perverted by Americans, no Americans were involved but had to be invented because of the need of Americans to feel involved. Also however, i think American audiences will only go to see films that have a significant American related storyline.

this sometimes saddens me because the story is twisted in order to be marketable to the viewing public. And also notice that most or all movies Americans are the heroes and the rest are enemies. I would love to watch a WWII related movie from the different standpoint, shall we say the Germans, or Japanese.
