Well, one of the main thing which one finds appealing for studying abroad are goood job oppertunities, security and facilities. However to talk about disadvantages, one misses his home and home-culture. He is totally living in an alien society.
In your home country u may be very near to relatives and dear ones but if your homeland is not so developed then you choos some abroad country as ur future-place.
hope u got it
thanks

here's some of my opinions...
advantages:
1. You get to experience a different culture depending on the country you choose..
2. You get to learn a new language, also depending on which country you choose, as some coutries still have people who speak the same language as you go from your country..
3. You learn to be independent as your family and friends will not be there to help always..
4. You will get to know more new friends and expand your present social circle..
Now for disadvantages:
1. You may not like the country you choose because it is so different from your own country.. you may even regret your choice.. after all, there are countries where people are more biased then you think towards people of a different nationality..
2. You will have problems fitting in if you did not get yourself prepared for what the foreign country has to offer... like language, culture, eating habits, security in the country, etc...
3. You will miss your family and friends back home.. This is because you will have times where you need them by your side... provided you haven't found any trusted friends in the foreign country you are at...
4. You have to be careful who you trust as you won't know if that person is a friend or foe... after all, he or she may be after your money or just out to con you...
5. You will have to do all your chores by yourself now that your family is not with you... Cook your own food, wash your own clothes, tidy your own room or house....
6. You will never feel at home after all the place you will stay at would be a rented place or a friend's apartment..
7. You may tend to worry about expenses as you have to pay for more stuff like bills for your rented room (mayb electricity or even water), your food (if you don't cook), stuff that you will need (toiletries, untensils, stationaries, etc), tranportation around the country so on and so forth...
seriously, i have only been on short few days vacation away from home.. but i do think and worry quite a lot as a person.. even though the disadvantage list is more that the advantages, i will still go overseas given the chance. WHY? because i want to gain experiences... As this is something you can't buy by staying at home in the safety zone... I just have to make sure i'm prepared some how im most ways before i make the move....

Being abroad to study may be cheaper than studying at home. It might give the wonderful opportunity to learn a foreign language. It would probably make the student more mature if they are young. It is likely that they would appreciate a different culture and they would possibly mix with other foreign students adding knowledge of the world. They might have a different climate and it might make them appreciate their home climate. I think that living overseas makes a person more worldly wise and they learn to respect anther culture. They might study a foreign language and practice it every day in local shops and in daily life generally. Disadvantages might be higher student fees, missing family and friends and not finding familiar food items to buy. Until the person felt confident in the foreign language they might have some language difficulties. Staying at home is safe but maybe a bit boring and living abroad can be exciting. I have worked in Finland, lived and worked in Australia and lived and studied in the Netherlands.

I think if u have the chance to change your enviornment,u are very lucky! And there are far more advantages than disadvantages! The advantages are:1. u have a total different life style so u can touch many many new things u have heared or not have heared before ;2.u can make acquaintance with many different people,so u can learn how to deal with people in a proper way!3.Especially ,u have the opportunity to learn the local language and force yourself to speak it to survive! And so on and on!And the disadvantages are that there must be a period when u are not used to the climat, the way of life peple around u ,the food. And all the local things don't agree with u!So they are where the disadvantages there ,if u can not adopt to the new enviorenment .But i don't think they are all the disadvantages, for this is also the opportunity for u to change yourself and adjust yourself to the new enviorenment !If u can easily involve yourself in the new enviorenment u win!So there is no disadvangage for u,if u are brave enough to overcome all the challenges!Go ahead, and there is a new world waiting for u!

I never did for financial reasons. But then again I never did try to get the money, and part of the reason I didn't is because my dad talked me out of it.
He was saying things like "Jesus is going to come back you don't want to do that." I should have never listened to him. That was over 15 years ago. If I get the chance I will now.
(Of course, I regret not doing it sooner because now things are probably a lot more risky around the world.)
