Going to be a grandma

Well, it's official.
I'm going to be a granmother in about 22 weeks. We're very excited for the birth of our very first grandchild and have already started buying things. So far we bought all the big items except for the crib - which I'm feverishly working on getting.
We haven't seen mommy in person but she keeps in regular contact and thank goodness for email and live feeds because it gives us an opportunity to see pictures.
She'd due at the end of July.
What a magical time for all of them - and us too!

Congrats on being a new grandma. I remember when my only daughter told me she was pregnant. I was so excited. I went to her lamaz classes with her and I was also in the delivery room with her. What a joyful experience. I now have 4 grandsons and I love them all dearly. They are a joy to have around.

Congrads to you. The first one is so exciting. I am WAY to young to be a grandma, but I am a step grandma. I loved when she was here to stay. My one son and I, more him, taught her to walk when she was 2 years old. We were working on teaching her to talk when they moved back to PA.
My son is still upset that they moved. But you can spoil them and send them home with all of the loud noisy toys. LOL
I am glad that you are able to keep in touch with the mom through video.

Being a grandmother is the second best thing that happened to me after having two children of my own. When my daughter was expecting her first baby friends kept telling me how wonderful it would be when the baby was born. I tried to relate to it as to how I felt when my own children were born and I couldn't imagine what my feelings would be as I hadn't actually given birth. I can only say that when I saw each of my three grandchildren for the first time there was this overpowering feeling of love and how wonderful each of them were. The last grandchildren to be born eas my second grandson Callum and is my son's first child I thought the feelings would be slightly different to how I felt when it was my daughter's children but it was exactly the same. My daughter's two children are now 7 and 4 and the unconditional love I receive from them is worth more than all the money in the world. Today I have received a Mother's Day card to Grandma and they have each wrote their own name and loads of kisses (what can be better!!).
I hope all goes well with the birth of your grandchild and wish you every happiness sharing the growing process with them.

Congrats! I hope they have a happy healthy baby :) My son will be 1 year old july 28th :) You sound like you're going to be a great grandmother! My kids are close with my parents. I think its a wonderful thing to have grandparents.

How wonderful to be expectiong your very first grandchild! That has to be the best feeling in the world. I hope mommy has been feeling good through her pregnancy. Better get looking for that crib babies like to come early sometimes! Congrats.
