How do some people get soo many referals? I cant get one, i dont know how, help

Like you, Chris, I stink at getting referrals.
I do cross promote my sites, but it's just that, and I don't get that many referrals anyway.
Then I got 3 referrals at one site, but they got none themselves, so that was it, and finally left the site.
I got miraculously 8 referrals here at mylot, none of them are active.
I got 5 at Yuwie, present from a friend of mine who won them at a contest, and that's it, not a single 2nd line referral from them either.
It's hard for me to get referrals, so If you get any good tips, please share!
By the way, want to exchange links? at least we can refer each other, hahaa

But I guess cross promotig is a good one, and of course a blog with all your sites (which I don't have, since I'm computer challenged and have no idea where to start my blog)

i got referrals but gave up, they don't use the site anyway so I do not get money from them.
