Hi, before I got preg with my last son in Feb 2006, I always had trouble sleeping. I dont know why. Sometimes it was hard for me to fall asleep, most of the times it was hard for me to stay asleep. I would wake up at the same time every night. Then I got preg and it all stopped, I would fall asleep almost anywhere, even while having conversations. Now it all started again, just a few weeks ago. I have tried sleeping pills (over the counter). People always ask me do I have alot on my mind and I dont. I just wake up at 1:30am every morning and wont fall back to sleep until around 5am. Whats wrong with me. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do?

It's been a week and I hope you don't mind my 2 cents. I was like that in my twenties. It was a thyroid disorder for me. But what's interesteing is you have children I was told (2 decades ago) pregnancy reverses the disorder. I don't have any children but having your blood checked for thyroids might give you and your Dr a clue.

Have you talked to your doctor about it yet? I know this might sound odd but it could be a symptom of depression. Mine started about 3 years, after my mom passed away. My doctor did give me a Rx for Ambien and it worked but once it ran out and he wanted to see how I could do on my own, I started waking up between 3:30 and 4 a.m. every day. I can't stand to lay in bed and toss and turn, so I get up and that is my quiet time on the computer. Well I started going to a new GYN and once he heard about that and some of the other issues I have been having he put me on anti-depressants. When I went back for my follow-up he was still concerned, my modd has gotten better but I am still waking up early. He wants to give me something to help me sleep through the night but I am worried that I won't be able to get up so I am still on the fence about it. I would really hate to give up my time on the computer in the morning, before the girls wake up but I don't know how much longer I can hang in there. On weekends or days that I don't work, I will lay down for a nap but most times I am working 5 days a week. Talk to a doctor, if your regular doctor won't listen consult your ob/gyn. It was the best thing I did.
