I think we should try to get independent from depending on foreign oil, we should try and develop a vehicle that runs on electricity like the plug in hybrid. We should develop more nuclear power plants, because they are the cleanest and most renewable source that we have. I hope that we get on our own sources of energy and quit buying it from other countries, I believe that they will keep increasing the prices because they know we can't do anything about it, What do you think?

Many people disagree whether or not we've reached Peak Oil, but I believe we have. And one of two things is bound to happen in the next 10 years: either we will work to develop cheaper energy or we will be crushed under the high cost of oil and sure-to-be passed carbon tax. Of all the current technologies, I think Solar power is our best bet. It does not degrade the land or threaten the wildlife like biofuels and wind turbines do. Nor does it rely on limited resources such as water (hydro power) or create the harmful waste and potential hazards associated with nuclear power. Solar Power is the way to go! (Drilling in ANWAR is NOT!)

I agree solar energy is a good possibility but we cannot depend on it for all our needs. I think nuclear is cleaner and cheaper to produce, we need to use it for producing electricity and not use gas or oil to produce it. Water power is ok but so much of our country does not have that resource. Wind power is very limited also. I believe we should use all our resources, and yes even to drilling in Alaska if necessary, but we should try to get off all foreign oil.

My husband has said that for that last few years. When the barrel jumps to 103.00, there is a problem. And the cost for gas these days for the car and ones who heat with it at home. The Electric bill is like a car payment or house payment these days. It is insane that we should have to pay the high price that we do. Just to heat our homes. and put gas in our cars to get back and forth to work.

we both agree that we need something more feasible also, but we are trying to wait until Honda comes out with a car with a battery that has a longer life span and we want a plug in hybrid, with a gas backup, because we cannot go anywhere with the battery that is now available. I hope the car manufactures come up with something soon. The price of gas is horrible and I know it is going to get worst, and I don't want to have to stay home all the time.
