we have one but only because when we moved into our house we had a 51cm tv that we got as a present from my sister and considering the size of the room it was too small. So we got a flat screen that was factory defect (had a screch on the side) and got it for 1/4 of the normal price.

I will rather go for a LCD TV than a flat screen one. My reasoning is that the flat screen TV uses the same CRT picture tube and as harmful as the other variations of the same. But LCD TV does not have CRT tube so it is harmless for your eyes as well as no radiation problem is there. What's your opinion on this sir?

I am planning to get one as soon as I can afford it, but will make sure it is HD cause the whole switch to digital thing. Might as well get a whole new TV rather than spend money on just a box. I like to have a good TV though too. So everyone is different I think. I don't care about all the hype though just my personal feelings.

Yeah digital is the main thing now. Most of them come in digital format and as a complete TV, not just a screen with nothing but plugs. Thanks

If I had the money I woul buy me a flat screen. I figure i just wait another couple of months, the price will eventually go drop just like everything else. But until then, my plain ol 32 inch TV will do for now.

We already have a flat screen. It wasn't really due to the uproar. It was most a need to have something bigger since we got a place for it, and the bulky ones just don't fit. Anyhow, I'm not really into watching TV that much, and having a big screen may seem so cool, but it does take it's toll if you watch TV for long periods. I don't know why but I think it's about the size of the screen that makes your mind wobbly after a few hours (like how it feels after the movies). But I guess one advantage would be that many can watch plus, you don't need to sit tightly together to understand the subtitles - if they got one. But for sure if I am to choose if it's an expensive flat screen or a really neat sound system, I'd go for the sound system anytime. =)

Yeah they have an outstanding sound system and the clustering is out of it but some one says LCD is better? Thanks
