My Shih Tzu is about 2 months old now and I would like to know if it is normal for Shih Tzu at that age to bite things around the house. Not only things around the house but also our foot or toes and fingers. We bought him artificial bone from the pet shop but he refuse to bite it. Will it stop biting at certain age? Is there any ways to stop or prevent him from biting things? Please help.

Your shih tzu bites things around the house because he is a puppy. Almost all puppies bite everthing they can get their mouth on. A lot of times it is because they are teething and need to chew/bite. You just have to gently correct them. Tell them no. Remove them from the area if you need to. My shih tzu liked to bite on my kitchen cabinets. I had to buy a pen to put him in whenever I wasn't able to watch him to keep him from biting the cabinets. He eventually out grew this habit. You just have to be patient and do your best to correct the behavior so that he doesn't continue this habit all his life. Mine was stubborn and it took him several months to stop biting things. Good luck. You may also need to contact a dog trainer and ask for their help as to how to stop the biting.

Hello goldwin65. I too have the same problem with my shih tzu. She bites almost everything around the house. Whenever I keep her in my room before I go to sleep, she bites on my shoes and other things lying around.
