Budget

It will be better if both the partners decide and work up on the money front of the home. The responsibility lies on both and one cannot just dump it on the other and escape for every single penny whoever earns it it is a hard earned money. In our house we both work up on the budget and also write down all the expenses that we make daily. This way we know what we spend, and what we save and where we have to save.

I don't think it is necessary that the wife handle the budgeting although in most marriages, this is so. I think It really depends on who is better in handling the money. In our case, it's my husband who takes care of the money. He knows more on where it is better to invest the money, etc. so I leave it up to him. The only money I handle is our fund for miscellaneous.

I'm the wife, and although I feel a little like a control freak, both of us have found it necessary for me to handle most of the money from 3 jobs. I mentioned hubby being "in the doghouse" in an earlier post-money is the main reason. :) He was supposed to be responsible for maintaining a savings account so we can afford for me to take maternity leave when the time comes (not expecting yet, but plan to be soon); he's responsible for the mortgage, his personal bills, and the car. I do all the utilities except cable/'net and phone. In December, we nearly had our cable/net/phone disconnected-way past due on 2 bills, in January, I found out the savings was gone, and then he got himself another couple hundred in the hole! Needless to say-I now handle the money. :)

lol, well, I'm the wife in our house, and if I didn't handle all of the money issues, we would be in big trouble. In fact, one month, to make a point, I let hubby handle the finances. Within one week, he had not paid a single bill, and had pretty much blown through the entire pay check. Needless to say, he is content now to let me handle it. LOL

My wife is good at money thing. Since I don't earn too much and don't have time to manage my money, all these thing are in charge of by my wife. I still have cards with me, and I can use it any time if I want. I think both of us should be responsible for our incoming. But since she like to do it, just let her do it. .... John
