I just changed my chair I use when Im on the computer. Because its too big for this room. It was a regular swival computer chair and the back was too high. For me thats uncomfortable. So I moved it out and put a regular chair in here. I guess I will find out how good it is. I hope my butt doesnt start hurting!LOL What kind of a chair are you using at your computer?

I mostly sit on the couch with my laptop with a cushion propped up behind me, the same when I'm in bed, with pillows behind me. I don't have a workspace set out just for our laptop )

I'm using a small desk chair... I had a huge over-padded one, but it hurt my neck and made my feet go to sleep... not a good idea! This one is shorter, has enough padding to be comfortable, and makes me hold myself up straight... no more aches and pains! Anything that I can find that makes me hurt less is my new best friend!

I am using a $20 padded folding chair that I picked up at Wal-mart. I really like it. My husband uses a wooded folding chair he got from Wal-mart for $30. It has a nice high wooden back and leather seat. Looks more like something that you would have at a kitchen table.

I use a regular old computer chair, it has a low back though. I wish it had a higher back, it may have been more comfortable right now!
If your bum goes numb then you could always get a nice coooshy pillow and put it on the chair so that its not so hard ;)

Get an exercise ball, trust me.
1) It's impossible for your butt to hurt even if you sit on it for hours
2) Cheap
3) Strengthens your core (abs, back and hips)
3.5) Improves posture

Can I trade chairs with you? I need a chair that will support my back better than the one I have. I spend many long hours working on the computer. It does not take long for my back and butt to start hurting. I get up and walk around often also. That helps.

I am using a nice swivel computer chair. For me I like the high back and the way my back fits there:)
Before this one I had a really big office chair. We got it at Good Will and it was so comfy, but it wasn't really to sit down typing, I remember I used to have enough space to cross my legs under me - I know I sit in the strangest positions and lean back, but it wasn't the best to type. Plus although it fitter well where I had my computer before, it wouldn't fit now, so this one is better. But sometimes I miss the other one:)

The one I have know does not have arms either, but the back is quite high still, and I like that.
I miss the arms tough. I find my self folding one leg and other underneath me when I am on the computer long. It was more comfortable with the old one LOL

It is the same as you Terry. A black chair that swirls.
And you are back! I thought you got buzzed off and there was a movement silently forcing myLot management to bring you back.
Last I heard, they made no move. Is it just that my news are terribly outdated? Anyway good to see ya again. :)

I hate computer chairs! When I used to go to the library or internet place to use the computers I couldn't stand the chairs...seemed the people using them before me would have them set way up high, so when I sat in them my feet didn't even reach the floor so I would always have to adjust them lower. When I finally did get my computer desk and later computer I had no chair...but then some people moved out of my building and left a lot of furniture behind and it was like a free for all...anyone could take what ever they wanted...I grabbed two nice all wooden Captain' chairs, and the weird thing...the color of the wood matched the desk one hundred percent...now what was the chance of that happening...looks like they were made for each other
Now you finally get to see my computer area...Hehee

I'm using a regular computer chair with a gas lift and keeps on rotating even I don't want too. Sometimes I can't control it hehehe, it feels me dizzy that's why I have to stuck it up anything on the chair so it will not move.

I have a unique split back computer chair. I have never seen one quite like it and believe me I looked. You see, I got it at a second-hand store down the street for just five dollars. I got a good deal, because of some prior jump from this place.
Anyway, the chair is very comfortable, but still, if I sit in it too long, my butt begins to hurt, LOL.

I did the opposite of you. The chair I used to use for my computer was a plain wooden stationary style chair. It was the most uncomfortable chair, though I didn't realize it until my butt was hurting. Even then I still used it, until one day my husband and I decided we had enough of this and splurged on an office chair from Office Max. Ah, what a difference. My butt doesn't hurt anymore, and I love being able to sit back in it. It was well worth the price and there is no way I'd ever want to go back to the other chair I was using. It just isn't worth the pain.

I have a dodgy back at the best of times, and find that most chairs make it ache, but there are some that are uncomfortable right from the start. At the moment I am using a plain old kitchen chair, and that seems to be the most comfy, with the least strain on my back!

I picked up this chair from one of the office equipment supplies store - ergo designed and rather comfy I must say. I MO if it is better to spend an extra bit for a good chair especially if you need to spend quite a bit of time on it. Also we need to be aware of the recent DVT issues which need to be addressed to avoid any fatality.

Hi Terry!
I don't have space for a big chair, and my computer is on a little desk. Talk about being uncomfortable, oh yeh. I'm always wiggling around, putting my foot up on one drawer that I open, haha, putting a pillow under my butt, and I have another drawer open to sit my coffee cup on, lol! What a picture I'm drawing for you huh?, lol!
