This is a timeless "How to Get More Traffic to My Site"? Question...

I have recently just developed one site which desperately needs some more traffic. I know it can take awhile to get things going, so I am not expecting miracles. I have submitted to all the search engines & a few blog feeds, joined technorati, blog catalog, magnolia, myspace, gather and more... I even made a lens about it on Squidoo... I have tried discussion boards but not too much luck... I have tried the click exchanges... I have personally invited people as well as posted comments on other blogs to maybe get interest that way... I have seen lots of sites & software that promise great things, but it is hard to sift through the things that are legit and which are a waste of time and money... Is my site idea a flop? Are people skeptical because it is new? Am I missing the right targets? Is there a magic wand I need? Something critical I am missing? Your tips, links, feedback, and criticsm are much appreciated!

The reason I am responding to this is because I have the same problem. I want to get my blogg out there more and have more people see it since it is about money making sites and I need more referrals. So I want to read your responses and see if there are more ideas that I haven't thought of. I also mention my blogg in some of the responses here in mylot and so I get some hits from members here, but I get very few sign-ups and that's what it is all about. I need those referrals. I think you have gone a long way to get hits and I haven't tried all of the things on your list, so I will have to give some of them a try.

I will visit your blog right now! Blog Catalog has helped - I got my first comment from someone on that site from on of mine - if you join them let me know I will add you to my "neighborhood"...I've also gotten some interest from others I've left comments on their blog...but boy is this time consuming and I'm sure I'm not getting loyal readers, just people paying back the favor! I was surprised this post didn't get more responses also - i know many of us on mylot have a site to promote in one shape or another! thanks for responding!

I got the same concern too. I did a lot of thing too to promote my web blog. Even register and joining web groups and site to help gain traffic to my site. But i still believe that through patience i can get more traffic to my site.

well i have a site too and were also worried about how to get more traffic for it. and later on i found a way online and now is trying to do and have a look. i guess this is a legit way to get traffic and the process is understandable. if everything goes well people can get more than 1 million real visitors to their sites for free. if you are interested too please check my profile and find the link. do tell me your idea if you have any comment. thanks for sharing.

I had 364 on one site, and 405 on the other today...i think stumble upon, entrecard, & blog catalog have been good resources!
