Who likes to shop on black friday weekend? I know that I don't with all the traffic and parking problems and long lines. I try to avoid black friday weekend. Does anyone else or do you go shopping?

No, I don't go shopping unless it is absolutely necessary. I go to a parade on Friday morning and put up my Christmas tree on Saturday. People are insane and just down right rude when they are out on Friday morning, I don't know if they ate too much the night before or not enough sleep, but you couldn't pay me enough to be in that mob of people.

It's terrible in the last few days before Christmas and you have to go to an area which has a shopping place in a 3 mile radius, the emotions they have are contagious!

I agree there and usually it is not necessary for me to go on black friday. I did that a couple years ago and it took forever to find a parking spot. Yes, people can be rude and then you have to watch for people trying to pick pocket you.

I am absolutely not going shopping on Black Friday. I used to own a restaurant in a mall- I saw what that was like on Black Friday. I do not dare venture out of my house on that particular day. I do not enjoy people that much. People are rude and mean around the holidays, ecspecially on that day. I'll stay home and enjoy my peace.

Yes, I have been out too and will not make that mistake again as people can be very grumpy. I wonder why people way til this time of the year to shop as there are sales that go on all year. Enjoy your peace. :-)

How did you make out on Black Friday? Were you in line for a long time? :-)

I usually don't even bother going shopping on Black Friday due to all the traffic, and lines. However, i went out this year and got stuck in THE line from h*ll at 3o'clock in the morning!!! I wound up just getting so frustrated and mad that I didn't get anything except for a book by Khalil Gibran.

You were very brave to go out that early. Are you regretting now that you went that early? :-) at our big mall here there were 20,000 people there at 3am and people were in traffic for at least an hour. Yuck!

Not shopping, but working it, yes in retail too. I have gone in the past years and made my husband go with me because he did not believe what it was like. He says never again. Was worse then deer hunting.

Poor husband. :-) Was it worse than he imagined? It does get really bad out there and I try to avoid it too. It is just madness out there. LOL

We are always in Johstown, PA for Thanksgiving due to our annual family reunion so we do shop on Black Friday. However, it is a depressed area so while the shopping is heavier than usual, there are no major crowds. We have not had to fight crowds or hunt for parking spaces since the last major flood in 1972.

You are very fortunate then. :-) We are not so fortunate here, especially since we have no sales tax here and people from several states come here. LOL

I also try to avoid it. I used to work retail in high school and college and it was the craziest date with all the sales.

I feel sorry for anyone working retail during that weekend through the christmas holidays. Must be stressful and tiring.

ALWAYS!! We wouldn't miss it! Once we had to take the kids with us but we ended up getting all kinds of compliments about how well behaved they were. :)

You are definitely a brave one and have a lot of patience to go shopping on Black Friday. Do you go early or does it matter what time you go?

Yes, I usually do the same thing by buying online after Thanksgiving. I hate the lines and traffic jams and trying to find parking. IT is hard here because people from various states come here to buy because of no sales tax.

No way. My aunt ventures out every year, but she is out of the house at like 5:30. I'm not that dedicated to sales!
