What's with cold restaurant bathrooms?

Have you ever noticed how cold restaurant bathrooms tend to be? At an undisclosed restaurant this morning for brunch with my family, I was perfectly comfortable at myable. But, the bathroom was substantially colder. I would think that if any temperature difference were to exist, the bathroom should be the warmest place in the building. After all, that's where your likely to have the least amount of clothes on, right?

It is colder to keep away the germs. Same way that Dr's offices are always so darn cold. Germs need a warm environment to cultivate.

Well,I don't think you have to saty too much in that bathroom anyway ,and if you're naked that means you're taking a nice hot shower so don't worry about those cold bathrooms. As other said,it's only to keep the germs away ,hence a cleaner bathroom.

but remember, if you're a female, you still have to sit on a cold toilet seat!

Least amount of clothes, yes, but better a little chilly than a little smelly as far as management is concerned. The cold air is less likely to "cook" the odor causing germs in that small space. After all, a little chill in the air wouldn't make you think badly of a restaurant, but if the restroom was too "armoatic" it may make people feel the place is unclean and not want to come back.

Good point. A smelly, dirty bathroom would be a much bigger turn-off than a cold one!

I agree its always so darn cold in the bathrooms whereever I go. Anymore I try not to even go in a public bathroom unless I absolutely have to. Or just wish summer would come fast lol
