My boys love the Simpsons series but the movie was a flop so they only watched that once or twice. They also like Avatar.Movies that get played over and over is Transformers. My daughter watches Hi-5 over and over! She also likes Sesame Street and Looney tunes. She doesnt really have a favourite movie yet. When Finding nemo first came out, that's all that would play. Same with when Elmo in Grouchland came out,it was on all my now eldest's waking hours!! I'm glad they still like tv instead of playing Playstation all the time but i hate falling asleep with Hi-5 songs playing in my head!!!

Okay i had to youtube hi 5 to see what it was, we dont have that hear that i'm aware of. lol. I dont usually have the tv on much while my daughter is awake. I dont want her to get into the habit of sitting in front of it all the time. But she really does love 4 squares, which is one you wont know cause its canadian :P and she loves rolly polly ollie. She is only 19 months old. She never really paid much attention to the tv untill recently. even baby einstine she ignored for a while.

I think 4 squares is probably similar to hi 5. There is physical movement involved and singing and dancing and poems they ask them to repeat. heh its a lot better then some of those shows. I cannot stand dora.I know repetativeness is good for them to learn.. but HOLY CROWS NESTS AND BATMANS, no thanks. i hate that lil girl!

My boys are into spongebob and so we have to watch it whenever it is on which is everyday and all day sometimes, even when they have seen it loads of times already they still watch it. My daughter who is 2 just loves to sing the theme tune to it. They also love Ben 10 and Doctor Who. Their favourite movies are starwars which they have on dvd and they watch them over and over again, again my daughter does not watch them but she can hum the theme tune very well and you can always hear her humming it wherever we go!

One of my girls used to be addicted to "the lion King". It amazed me how she could watch it over and over and never tire of it. She is 14 and still occassionally puts it on for old times sake. We don't watch much tv in our house but we all have had our little favorites. Right now my 21 year old is addicted to Dr.Phil. Every nite right on cue, the radio gets turned off and the tv on. If she gets busy with something and doesn't notice the time and oh my gd...misses it, you'd think it was the end of the world.

The Lion King was just one of those movies that got the hearts of many kids and adults alike.I know of many people who bought the soundtrack. I also like Dr Phil but they play it at noon here. It's a pretty good show for a 21 year old to watch..kinda helps prevent mistakes because you view others and know how to prevent it yourself.

My 6 year old daughter loves Hannah Montana. My boys, ages 8 and 10 are into cartoons such as Xiolin Showdown, Naruto, Ben 10 and Yu-gi-oh. They all watch the Nickelodeon shows and Disney Channel shows together most of the time (when they are home). I like Drake and Josh and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

Right now my almost 4 year old daughter loves The little mermaid the most. She is also into Cinderella, The Simpsons, Barbie, Toy Story and The Chipmunks a lot too. It used to be scooby doo but she dont want that to often now. Oh she also likes spongebob. I dont really care for Spongebob, and I dont think she should watch the simpsons to much but she loves it.

I agree about the Simpsons. The Simpsons and spongebob are really not suited to kids but all kids love it,so what can you do?Toy Story was a big hit for a while here too.I personally like that movie myself.

lol,Spongebob is harmless enough but i can't stand it.It's not harming my kids so i just do go in the room when it's on..it reminds me of Ren and Stimpy.

My two oldest kids, the ones that watch tv are 4 and 5 and their favourite shows right now are Curious George, Deigo, Dora, Strawberry Shortcake, Barbie movies and this great show called Super Why? If any of you have small children I highly recomend it. It's a great learning show and interacts with the kids to find letters on the screen, asks them what letter makes this sound and even asks them to sound out a word and read, which is really great because my 5 year old is learning to read. The Hi-5 songs are so annoying! My kids used to watch that but I pretty much choose what they watch. They also like Toopy and Beenu but I find it so annoying I usually try to find something else they like to watch instead.

I have a five year old niece, she's much into cartoons. She enjoys watching Totally Spies, Kim Possible, Sponge Bob and some local shows here in our country. She used to watch Hi-5 back then, but she's now into pre-school during the time that show is aired. Barney was also one of her favorite, we'd both enjoy watching it and sing songs together..

right now my son love anything shown on playhouse disney channel. though there are some that really gets his interest like pocoyo, elmo's world, handy manny and mickey mouse clubhouse. my son is only a year and 3 months yet he appreciates these shows and seems to absorb a lot from them. though its advise that babies be more mobile or be more active, i still let him watch them coz he dances with the songs and reacts to things being shown.

We dont have pay tv but we have that show from playhouse disney with Monica but my Daughter doesnt even look at it when it's on.Pocoyo is such a cute show and all my kids like it.I think elmo is always a hit with the little ones. I agree with you that if it helps them mentally and they still get plenty of exercise...i cant see it to be harmful at all.

My son is only four months old so he doesn't really watch TV yet. Although, he absolutely loves music. Thats why my husband got him the Veggie Tales silly songs DVD. He gets so excited when we put on the DVD. He even has his favorite songs. I love putting in the DVD and singing to him. I have those songs stuck in my head all the time though! It is a very good educational show. I had to also search on youtube for Hi-5. He may enjoy the songs from that show too!

I have 3 boys. They are 7, 7 and 8 1/2 and absolute Star Wars FREAKS! Almost everything is about Star Wars, and it gets to be annoying some days. We've had our Transformers phase, oddly enough, BEFORE the feature film was released. And when they were all much smaller, our lives revolved around "Thomas the Tank Engine".

my boys aged 5 and 9 went through the Star Wars phase but only briefly and i have no idea why.Oh yep,Thomas was huge when Mr9 was small but it skipped Mr5 for some reason.Maybe because he's car mad-I completely forgot the Cars movie..Mr 5 has only just stopped watching it but everything has to be red...it goes faster LOL.

My daughter is seventeen now and she doesn't have much time to television. However, when she was about twelve or so she loved a show called Buffy the vampire slayer. This show was on television for about four or five years. It was a very interesting science fiction show. Buffy was a type of superhero I guess. When my daughter would act up or just be bad I would take away the show. You would have thought I had killed her. Needless to say she now has the show on dvd and still watches it when she gets the time. When she was real young her favorite show was Barney. She loved that purple dino. I would put one of his shows on for her and she would want to watch it two or three times. I am sorry to say that I hate Barney. My kid wore me out with that dino. Also if you ask her about Barney now she says she can not stand his shows. I always tease her about it. I tell her I am going to put one of his shows on and she tells me she is not going to watch it and I am terrible. She can not believe that she watched it as a child. Kids they grow up so fast.
